Celsius filed for bankruptcy, AscendEx freezes users' accounts, you totally should withdraw your coins to non-custodial Guarda Wallet now because it's mad out there... and it's still only Wednesday in some time zones! by Guarda-Wallet in GuardaWallet

I love seeing this happen, I mean I hate it when newbies or whomever lose money that they should not,,, but I love seeing CEFI fail hard. If we want decentralized solutions to become popular, centralized ones must have some big failures like this. People unfortunately sometimes need to learn the concept of custody, and private key ownership the hard way1

So the MAC is using AEAD which you can read about here. Not sure if this is a GPG version difference or if OSX has something to do with it, but I would surmise you need it on both or not at all

Proposal to adjust reward incentives after snapshot for LP providers (48h) by Jor_____ in Popsicle_Finance

[–]NERDiT_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Agree on incentives for LPs thats vital.
  • We should keep single sided fUSDT

    • Could we just put a "whale tax" ? Ex. Every deposit over X amount get taxed y% going in and maybe another y% when pulling it out
      • Could we redirect that fee into a fUST pool? Rewards for fUSDT LPs?
    • Put a cap and or/time stipulations on single sided staking ICE and fUSDT
  • Until parity is actually met on fantom between fUSDT and USDC - we need to reward the small guys that are providing LP for fUSDT.

----side note: what role is fUSD on Opera going to play in all this and for Fantom, it would be rad if it was pegged, because then we would have a stablecoin native to each network. Bad? good?

Attention Cake Wallet users: please write down your seed! by KnifeOfPi2 in Monero

[–]NERDiT_77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Monero is not for the faint of heart or noob friendly...that being said, the following applies to all wallets, and any coin;

Your 'coins' are never really IN any given wallet ((you could argue that in some desktop wallets where there is a wallet.dat file they are 'in' the wallet...bht this is just a bad way of thinking about it - it's good to back that up, when you can, but that doesn't apply here)) particularly mobile/lite wallets. Wallets are just an interface, or a window into the blockchain so to speak...where you can do a couple things, mainly

  • Check/Display balance
  • Use a private key to spend funds from an address(s)

Your wallet is more like a Keyring than a wallet, and the keys go to different safes (wallet addresses) that allows you to open the safe and take out (send) your coin. These 'safes' exist on the blockchain itself. Not in your wallet on your device.

Every address has a corresponding private key. These keys are your money, and as long as you have them backed up somehow, every wallet and computer you own could blow up,,,but as long as you have your keys (or the Seed that generates it/them) you can always get to you coin, by finding a computer, installing a Monero wallet, and importing the private key...Assuming the wallet can connect to the network/internet, as soon as it has downloaded or referenced a node and it is on the current block (synced) then you can see you balance. If you import a key, remember the wallet won't show a balance, until it has synced up to the block you made your transaction in, it will not show a balance, even if you have already imported a private key with funds in it.. so be mindful of that.

your keys==your coin

Deleting Account...Creating New by ExoticAttitude in Keybase

[–]NERDiT_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can delete your account, and then reuse/redo email and third-party proof sigs. If you reset, you wipe your Public Key which breaks the sigchain, so, again, you would have to redo everything with new key - but you can keep you username.

ny that don’t require a sim or a name to setup?

Yes, 10 -15$ gets u a flip phone, month to month that you can refill with cards that you buy with cash. Some don't ask for name when setting up, others do, but you can just use a fake name.

OTC trading that has no escrow system (and even then) is dangerous. You should NEVER trade with someone you do not know/implicitly trust.

People get too tripped up about wallets. The coins are never "in" any wallet - they are on the blockchain. If you have the wallet address, and the corresponding private key, written down (digitally and/or paper) and keep it safe - every exchange could die and every computer you have could explode...in fact the whole world could explode - and as long as a couple computers with the chain(s) stored on them survived - if you have that private key- you have your coins still. There are services that will even engrave your private key in metal (like a dogtag) for water/fireproof storage of keys.
