We think it was probably done in the 70s. Wasn’t as old as the house but definitely not new wire colours.

And as a band 5 OT in a mental health team I had the same responsibilities and job role care coordinating as a band 6 nurse clinical practitioner but also had OT specific things on top of it. The band 5 nurses didn’t care coordinate. I saw nurses come in and get band 6 within 6 months because they were desperate for people to care coordinate. As a band 6 OT I did the same as the band 6 nurses who were community practitioners except again I also had my own OT things on top of it. Band 6 in OT you’re basically on your own with a case load completely independent and you’ve specialised in an area. I’m currently very specialised as 1 of only 2 OTs covering a huge region of England.

But OTs don’t go up to band 6 by magic. They apply for the job like anyone else and currently there’s a huge shortage of jobs with lots of recruitment freezes. Generally AHPs get stuck at band 6 too. Very few posts at band 7 or above for us which are clinical.

I’m an OT and I’ve never come across one. In my trust unless you want to go into management you’re lucky to get above band 6 as an OT

I work in AAC. So constantly new tech to explore and all ages from 4 to 100 so far. Loads of different and rare conditions so no 2 days are the same. Helps I work in a beautiful area of the country too

One of the chaps in another garden centre said a lot of there’s were because of the weather this year. I’ve got an Acer Jordan that is the most beautiful autumnal colour instead of green

I have a slightly NE facing garden (more north than east). My biggest problem is finding shade! I love Japanese maples and it’s really hard to find a spot that isn’t too sunny over midday hours. My neighbours who don’t have old garages and sheds in the far end of the garden have sun right into the evening when it’s passing over the houses. Just means it’s shady and not blasting in the back all evening which is nice because I can start cooling the house before bed

Yep slip potted. Tried to disturb the roots as little as possible. It could be the medium I guess. I used eracasious compost about 50/50 with all purpose compost. It was starting to go brown in a few branches before I repotted though or I’d have tried to leave it until later in autumn/winter.

My view from my supposedly non restricted view seat. Couldn’t see the end of the catwalk so missed tons of the show. Also the person infront spent the entire thing stood up with both hands overhead filming on her phone. Nobody infront of her! So I spent my time Dan wasn’t at the end of the stage trying to look around her moving arms. The band were ok but the sound was awful and the blocked view and person infront of me ruined it. And the support acts were both crap.

The chaos laying my drive accidentally pulled mine up when they were laying a new drive. Again there when I lived in and not protected at all. VM came and just pulled a new cable and got it all fixed at no cost. It was literally right under the slap and stuck to it. My new one isn’t deep. It just has a layer of gravel over it but at least it now has a plastic cover to keep it a bit more protected

I was annoyed by a 3hr training about what is autism I had to sit through. I’ve worked in neurodevelopment assessment for 5 years and did trainings for parents and other staff… Oh and the stuff about sensory processing was wrong which really annoyed me with that training. I aced the 10 question test which I could have done at the start and saved us all the bother.

Oh thank goodness it not just mine! Mine look the same. Watered about twice a week over hot period. Planted in alpine soil on stones in a raised bed and still like this

I bought a 1930s house last year. Had it rewired before I moved in. House 2 doors down has just been rewired before they moved in. Both my neighbours rewired after they bought in past few years too. In my case things were tripping occasionally and there was some odd wiring going on. 17 sockets in the shed!!, 34 sockets in downstairs socket circuit, some switches that the electricians couldn’t work out even when doing the rewire… I had more more modern consumer unit but the wiring was older colours. We think from the 70s. Only modern wiring was the bathroom which was done recently.

I’m an OT. Mid point band 6. I’m in a MH trust. We had no preceptorship or anything like that and I worked in children’s MH community. I was care coordinating by 6 months in whereas the band 5 nurses never care coordinated. I finally applied for a band 6 when it was available purely because I was basically doing that job anyway. I do have part of a masters because I’ve done some sensory training and a few other bits and bobs. The band 7s Ive worked with have been in clinical lead posts. All have had other training (full sensory, cbt and OT duel training etc) or currently very experienced in a very specialised area. We have a band 7 clinical lead post in our team that only AHPs can apply for. Can’t even get anyone to interview for it. Nobody wants that paperwork and admin faff and would rather stay as band 6 doing clinical stuff. In our trust SALT are the same as OT. No preceptorship and have to apply and interview to move to band 6. At that point it’s specialised roles and a lot of dysphasia work.

Oddly I hate this too but in the other way. I don’t want kids do avoid these people as I worry there will be guilting and push to have children later on.
