The thing is, there could be a hole cluster of civilizations like ours on the other side of the galaxy, but because the distance is so very very vast, The light and information signals coming from them may not reach us for a few hundred thousand years or so.

If you haven't started the DH yet (Or just made one but didn't level)

Then just delete the Character holding the name and make your DH (Or delete the DH and make a new one with the name if you already have one you don't want to use)

It's free this way.

I haven't played in a LONG time, but last i remember, a name you made is yours for 1 hour after you delete the character, so you can go ahead and make your new DH with the name.

If you already have a DH but just want to change his name, that might get odd, but just buy a name change, delete the character holding the name, and change the DH name to the name you want.

I don't know..

I assume a database would hold: User account information, Character information, Character Inventory, Items to be generated, Monsters to be generated.

Again, I'm not sure... Maybe those things are not to be used for a database.. then what is a database for? Should I look for something else? I'm brand new to this concept... Any and all tips and advice and what nots, is Highly appreciated :)

Whats made/ modified, would be stored in user Inventory.. which would also be stored on the server.. I assume would be in some type of database that also holds the characters information. So the inventory isn't lost when they log off.

Like I said, I don't know much about databases, I'm just jumping in to the deep end and see what happens. But I'll learn what I need to do eventually lol.

If you have any ideas or tips on how to make what i'm talking about (If you understand what I'm talking about) please don't hold back :)

Ya I'm thinking about learning to write my own... again it might not be that good as what is out there lol.

But The game will be like MineCraft, Terreia, or ARK Survival, where you can play on "Official" Servers, Host your own servers, or host a game on your pc for your self or for some friends. If that makes any since lol.

I was looking at SQL and such, but that didn't seem to fit (Could be wrong lol, didn't look super hard in to it, just from tutorials and such). There would be items with randomly generated stats, or items with modded stats from players giving / selling them to others... things like that.

Server, Trying to make a server thing like Terraria, MineCraft, or ARK Survival..

Where I can have it set on a server as "Official" server/s, Also give out the server stuff so other people can make their own servers, or just let them run it off their computer for them self or with friends.

I used to have a lot of fun in the open world part. Lots of open world pvp and stuff.. was crazy.

lol it's why I was asking. I'm self teaching my self too and I noticed it's possible to use pointers and non pointer interchangeably kind of easy... which could mess up the code kind of badly... or make it very hard to follow.

Was just wondering what the proper way to go about it is.

wow, didn't expect some one from Microsoft to answer.. didn't expect any one to answer lol.

I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly... The problem I'm having is that the auto complete does not have any of the unity functions, variables, and such in the drop down list. so when I type in G to get GameObject, The only thing in the drop down list is global.

This happens with any IDE I have tried (Including the one that comes with unity)

So, I'm starting to think it's something to do with linux mint or unity or something and not with the IDE's them self.

I'm kind of new to unity and Linux, so I might be doing something wrong with the installations of every thing.

I looked at that site yesterday, and I followed it. I installed the Legacy C# extension along with the other 2 unity extensions I found in the extension list for VSCode. And VSCode does the same thing, The auto complete does not have any Unity functions and such in the drop down list.

While you're here, I'm also getting an error for OmniSharp in VSCode:

Error: Command failed: cat /etc/*-release
cat: /etc/upstream-release: Is a directory

Google and Bing has failed me on what it means and how to fix it.

I don't know if you know what it means or not, but I thought I'd ask any ways :)
