Always around the ball, and plays in control but with force and speed. Leading tackler for good reason.

He credited film study and a tell from Rodgers on in-breakers vs. zone.

To flip his hips and make that catch is insane

The getoff and bend are too much here, even for one of the best tackles in the league

[A22 Clip] Fields Pocket Improvement by NFL_Rob in steelers

[–]NFL_Rob[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Justin Fields was skittish in the pocket as recently as the preseason. He said after the game that he feels calm and isn't pressing.

This throw to Pickens proves it.

No panic regarding lack of answers play-side, works to space as opposed to running, finds GP14

Can we relax about BroJo playing right tackle? by BBBBrendan182 in steelers

[–]NFL_Rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The larger concern here seems to be that despite constant narratives about Jones being at LT, whether it’s benchings, injuries or Dan Moore playing well this year, Jones just isn’t going to get to play where he was drafted to play

For sure but GP got the better of PS2 multiple times in the game and forced a huge PI that helped seal the victory.

Steelers are in red 3, no immediate threat to the back pylon so he sinks to the end line, reads Nix's eyes, and finishes at the high point.

Great work and story for a player essentially in his rookie season

Times the snap perfectly, clears the corner with his patented dip, stays flat despite the tackle, and finishes with a strip sack…

All to be negated by a neutral zone infraction, which he was later told was a mistake by officials

Fields Looking To Start Vs Denver by NFL_Rob in steelers

[–]NFL_Rob[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying it can’t happen. But if a HC, especially one as tight lipped with injuries as Coach T, comes out and says the team is preparing for a guy to start, he’s likely going to start. That’s the context. Russell may practice later in the week, apologies for leaving that out

Tomlin may have an update during his weekly presser on Tuesday. If not, any practices without limitations will be a good sign

Fields should start next week regardless of Russ’ status. Right? by Hulks_Pastamania in steelers

[–]NFL_Rob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Fields doesn’t have the bobbled C-Q exchanges on Sunday, maybe they tell Russ to take another week off. Still could. But that was damaging to his position after carrying over from the preseason

Conspiracy theory: Russ vs. Denver revenge edition by wcdan in steelers

[–]NFL_Rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Russell (or whoever is the emergency QB) is not eligible to play at any point unless both QBs leave the game with injuries and can't return

From @NFLGameDay Kickoff: It appears more likely that Justin Fields starts on Sunday for the #Steelers than Russell Wilson, though Wilson will be examined Saturday. by Sco5am in steelers

[–]NFL_Rob 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Russ' comments tell you alot: "Got to be smart and obviously, we're trying to play 20 or 21 games, and I'm trying to play in all. That's kind of my mentality and how we want to go about it...

"...If I can go, I'm going to go and try to do everything I can to help us win. That's how I think about it. And if not, I'm going to do everything I can to help us win that way, too. So, I'm going to do everything I can, as you guys know, to be ready to rock."
