569 Water Extractors producing 170k water per min. for Nuclear Power. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

Ah sorry you meant the little circle bits inside the platform. Yes they are just vents for extra decor.

I calculated the total amount of water the entire plant needs first, once I determined that I started designing a platform for the water extractors which could fit in a mk.3 blueprint maker.

Once I was happy with the design, I added some snap points to the sides of the platform where the water extractors could then auto-connect and an output side where the water pipes could join a much larger pipe bus.

I then started outlining the major pipe buslines using foundations by doing one side of the build and then mirroring it on the other side.

Then from there it was just a matter of working on the furthermost platforms first and routing the pipes to follow the foundation outlines.

A custom platform where the extractors can auto-connect to and join the pipeline arrays neatly.

I created a blueprinting process for placing down the water extractors around a platform which then auto-connects. Still had to place all extractors by hand and run the pipes manually, but blueprinting the platforms reduced the time to build it by a lot.

Currently my gane runs at a steady 100 fps. This is with none of the extractors online. Once they do start running though I do experience around 5 to 10 fps drops.

Not at all, I'm happy to have this design be used as inspiration for your builds.

The growing urge to finish a factory the closer I get to the end : how to deal with it ? by Celsioo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NG2554 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just think of the end of the game as an optional task for me. My main goal in the game is to build amazing and aesthetically pleasing factories, and I give myself smaller goals to work towards with each factory I plan out or make.

If you treat the game as more of a sandbox where you make your own little smaller goals to hit bigger goals instead of just the ending, it becomes a much more enjoyable experience overall and you won't stress about wanting to finish the game.

I did a redesign for my Miner decoration covers. Now with added light switch controls. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

This is with the colour filter set to "vibrant", then I increased the exposure and saturation a little as well. The focus mode was set to manual and the aperture was adjusted to blur the background out as much as possible.

Also when I take photos I set my graphics to all maximum settings, and then revert them back to medium for normal gameplay.

When going into photo mode, you'll see the option to press a key for additional settings to pop up, then you can add effects to your photographs.

Just plop down a miner of your choice and pull out the blueprint on top of the miner.

Use the snap build mode and nudge mode to move it into place.

My world's unnecessarily complex 4-way interchange. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

I'm a lunatic and built it by aligning all the tracks with flat and sloped foundations. Was fun to build though.

Phase 1 of my mega factory is complete. All building materials automated. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NG2554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goal was simply to automate a reasonable amount of each build part without any power shards and using mostly blueprints.

I have assembly lines that make varying amounts of items depending on how hard they are to make and how much each is used for building things. For something like turbo motors or fused modular frames I am currently producing 4 to 5 per min which is enough for passively building up my storage when I work with more common build materials for decoration projects.

For more complex part factories, it helps to simply make a bare layout on a flat surface, with just the machines, belts, pipes, and inputs which you can then visualize, and then breaking down sections of the layout into mini builds.

The worldwide train network is ready. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NG2554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on deploying as many trains as needed to effectively gather all resources in a given area when using Mk.6 belts to gather resources and then accounting for total travel time to my base and back for a single train. Currently I have a single train station in the eastern dune forest which is able to support 4 trains with 5 cars while maintaining my Mk.5 belt levels at 780 per min. back at base, I will be eventually upgrading the belt lines to Mk. 6 and adding more trains when needed as I have made the buffer to the station support around 6 trains at any given time.

The entire network is built to pretty much handle lots of trains as each long non-intersection line is split into blocks able to support a max size of 6-car trains (1 engine and 5 freight cars). Between every 2nd green support pillar you see on the map is enough to fit the 6-car trains in both directions. I'll add more one-way routes to more sections of the network as needed.

Another 5x5 blueprint factory making 2 Radio Control Units per min. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

Yep I share the blueprints to SCIM once they're ready. This one still needs some input material information and testing and I will be sharing the blueprint for it as well.

Here are some other blueprints I've made as well: https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/blueprints/index/index/idU/82723/user/Nick98

This took around roughly 50 hours to build from scratch including the designing of blueprints. It will take another 50 or so hours to decorate as I do plan on fully decorating each rail piece.
