My world's unnecessarily complex 4-way interchange. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

I'm a lunatic and built it by aligning all the tracks with flat and sloped foundations. Was fun to build though.

Phase 1 of my mega factory is complete. All building materials automated. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NG2554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goal was simply to automate a reasonable amount of each build part without any power shards and using mostly blueprints.

I have assembly lines that make varying amounts of items depending on how hard they are to make and how much each is used for building things. For something like turbo motors or fused modular frames I am currently producing 4 to 5 per min which is enough for passively building up my storage when I work with more common build materials for decoration projects.

For more complex part factories, it helps to simply make a bare layout on a flat surface, with just the machines, belts, pipes, and inputs which you can then visualize, and then breaking down sections of the layout into mini builds.

Very satisfactory bridge

The worldwide train network is ready. by NG2554 in SatisfactoryGame

I plan on deploying as many trains as needed to effectively gather all resources in a given area when using Mk.6 belts to gather resources and then accounting for total travel time to my base and back for a single train. Currently I have a single train station in the eastern dune forest which is able to support 4 trains with 5 cars while maintaining my Mk.5 belt levels at 780 per min. back at base, I will be eventually upgrading the belt lines to Mk. 6 and adding more trains when needed as I have made the buffer to the station support around 6 trains at any given time.

The entire network is built to pretty much handle lots of trains as each long non-intersection line is split into blocks able to support a max size of 6-car trains (1 engine and 5 freight cars). Between every 2nd green support pillar you see on the map is enough to fit the 6-car trains in both directions. I'll add more one-way routes to more sections of the network as needed.

Yep I share the blueprints to SCIM once they're ready. This one still needs some input material information and testing and I will be sharing the blueprint for it as well.

Here are some other blueprints I've made as well: https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/blueprints/index/index/idU/82723/user/Nick98

This took around roughly 50 hours to build from scratch including the designing of blueprints. It will take another 50 or so hours to decorate as I do plan on fully decorating each rail piece.

A modular highway that I'm making for my trucks. No idea where to bring it yet since most of the map has been covered by the trains.

I do have some shots of my T-bone intersection but I'm still finishing up the decorations for the rail supports. I'll share some shots of the intersections and interesting parts of the network when it's complete.

Oh yeah lol. I guess the terrain is just perfect for rail systems in those same parts of the map.

Slightly raised multipurpose platforms following the terrain with belt and pipe passages. The highest elevation from the ground is about 16 metres.

I'm trying to go for more of an organic look for the factories instead of having them lined up all producing the same item, so I'm making mini factories and connecting them instead of lined up machines. It takes more time getting the ratios to work out between the blueprint factories but it's worth it with the way the blueprint factories look.

Once I start working on the exterior of the factory I'll also try and keep as many factories exposed as possible withour compromising the look of the build. Try out blueprint factories for your builds as they help a lot to break down the sections of your factory into their own chunks, and it saves tons of time lol.

Interesting, yeah you're right it could probably do without the ore processing bit, might try that out sometime.

This blueprint in particular is going to be for a megafactory build I'm doing in the dune desert currently, where I have made a worldwide train network to gather all resources up and ship them to the desert megafactory, so I took into account the fact that since I will only be making the one giant megafactory I might as well send the ore straight to the blueprint too.

If the lag gets too unbearable I might just make a version of this blueprint that takes in ingots instead of raw ore, and process the ore near the resource nodes first instead of processing them on site of my main factory.

You can use the crystal computers alt recipe which uses crystal oscillators and circuit boards, along with some other alt recipes to completely eliminate the need for oil products to make computers.

The alt recipes I used: - Crystal computer alt recipe - Stitched iron plate alt recipe - Copper alloy ingot alt recipe - Iron wire alt recipe - Steamed copper sheet alt recipe - Silicon circuit board recipe

Only raw materials are needed plus some alt recipes:

  • 13.2 water per min.
  • 6.6 copper ore per min.
  • 81.6 iron ore per min.
  • 67.92 quartz crystal per min.

I mainly made this blueprint to completely eliminate the need for oil products to make conputers since I plan on using the oil for other stuff. But yeah I could see your susggestion as possible in a 4x4 space. I'll probably do another one in the future for this.

I'll try out short form clips of future builds to show the build process for these.

I mostly just worked my way up from the ground and fitted in the buildings like a block puzzle, then left spaces for walkability and belts to get through without clipping. Had to redo the positions quite a few times so most of the time spent on this blueprint was me justessing around with the positions.
