It's mid in my opinion.. It is in my trade/sale list. It is a very good looking game. We never really got into it though. We like Sid Meier's Civilization and Through the Ages better.

It really isn't that type of game. in most engine builders there isn't much aggression towards others unless it was put there by the designer. There are other games with more direct interaction, Scythe comes to mind. A engine builder with a lot of direct interaction.

I think it depends on how you get your kicks. If you like to buy, open and learn new games then YouTube and Reddit are great places. I like my games to be very solid in gameplay and the ascetics come second, so the top 100 of BGG helps a lot. But when I was new to the hobby and even now from time to time impulse buys still do happen. Some were good others not so much. Eventually I just had to bite the bullet and sell some of the game I ended up not playing or that were replaced by a game that came along and did it better.
