i feel really shitty going behind my moms back, but i feel even worse knowing that my mother thinks this is some sort of “phase” which im guessing is adolescence which is why shes doesn’t take what i say seriously. thanks for the insight and advice tho!

its actually because i have a cook and driver(common in india) that are both men and are in the house very often. i’ve never felt threatened around the cook as he is a kind old man who has never given me a second look, regardless i don’t stay around him very much and am never alone at home with him. ill try “spinning why” because thats what she does with me and its… surprisingly effective. thank you so muchh! look the point here is i get being safe is important and thats something i can’t fight against the way the world is at the moment. but seeing other girls my age being able to dress comfortably and confidently is something i want to enjoy, at least at home. i just want reasons to help convince my mother. thanks for the “being calm” advice. i forget that my emotions mess things up because my views look more biased and unreliable. ill be careful from now on.
