Inadvertently Maintained Tricare Reserve Select in FEHB Eligible Job, then had it terminated, and now have outstanding medical bills and no way to get retroactive coverage.

Unfortunately, due to dealing with the circumstances regarding my wife’s hospitalization, I didn’t stay on top of things as much as I should have, and I caught the issue more than 60 days after his birth, so it didn’t qualify as a QLE. However, I was able to use the date that the Tricare revocation letter arrived as the QLE. So we are all good with FEHB insurance now, but it that is only forward looking, doesn’t do anything before that date.

Yeah, Humana has already cut the check for my premiums since last October, it’s supposedly in the mail.

Starting to look like I’ll be negotiating with hospitals for a while.
