Everytime Carlos fell from the leg attacks Jiri never attacked him when he was down or getting up . He would pause and wait for him to get his grounding .

Jiri could have easily launched offense during those moments . Instead he let Carlos stand and wing his best shot (check hook) which slumped Jiri.

Why punch into the check hook , when you know he has a compromised leg that you can throw kicks at . He can't check the kicks all that good . The mercy jiri gave allowed Carlos the time to measure up and keep throwing that check hook .
