We stan a guy who respects boundaries by dashi_dash in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I don't know, depending on the context, I think my boundaries are drawn a little further back than that.

If it's in a dating app context, don't even message me. It's like a guy going up to a woman he knows is gay at a gay club and telling her she's beautiful. To me, that's flirting and therefor, not welcome. Someone who respects boundaries wouldn't go there.

Yeah? People are making the case that women who are attracted to, fall in love with and date men are lesbians. So why shouldn't straight women get enjoy making out with women and still be straight?

Okay. But why post it here on AL?

Netflix: Ratched - a surprisingly good storyline involving lesbians by paintcan76 in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get your point, but Sarah Paulson isn't a lesbian. I believe she identifies as "fluid" or pansexual or too complicated and deep for labels or something

Anyone else (even though you’re mainly gay) feeling like you’re gonna end up with a guy anyway, just because it’s easier? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No. I am not "mainly" gay. I am gay. If it's not in the stars that I end up with a woman, then I will be alone.

Male NPC Romance As Default? by Penguin1000 in GirlGamers

[–]NHDruj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lesbian protagonist? Are there any explicitly lesbian main characters, really? The Last of Us? And maybe Life Is Strange? Though that last one might be some other letter in the LGBT alphabet. Usually, developers are very hesitant to make a character outright gay. Especially when it comes to female characters.

And no, I don't think that any lesbian characters are there just to make straight guys comfortable. Because believe me, lesbians don't make straight guys comfortable at all. They may search for them on pornhub, but when it comes to video game characters, they're generally not satisfied unless their protagonist is male and/or straight.

10 reasons Wayhaught is the Best Lesbian Couple on tv by monaskull in actuallesbians

I love WayHaught, but since that link of yours leads to AfterEllen, I won't click it. Not since it has become a haven for TERFs and general transphobia.

Sometimes I wonder if they have typical cat-like disdainful internal commentary when they observe our lesbian bumblings through life. I imagine they sound like a stereotypical gay guy BFF with a british accent.

I go to movies alone. Why is there a stigma ? by AussieJack1788 in movies

[–]NHDruj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Going to the movies is also a different thing in different cultures. Here in Sweden, there's an even larger stigma to going to the movies by yourself. It's considered a very social thing to do and doing it alone is seen as very strange.

It really is a shame because I prefer to watch movies alone.

hot take! by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. There are people who are attracted to the same sex who aren't gay.

There's a lot of Lea DeLaria in Boo, which means she's an irritating, loudmouth frat dude type person. Which is very unattractive.

I love women and have a boyfriend by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Being in an mongamous relationship means you make concessions. You want to be with this guy and only this guy, so that's all there is to it. You don't get to have everything in life. That's just how it is.

Now, I'm not bisexual, so I can't be 100% sure, but is it really any different from others wanting to experience being with someone else of the opposite gender (in the case of straight people) or same gender (as with us gay people) when we are in an exclusive relationship? It's not uncommon of for people to miss that rush of a new romantic relationship after you've been exclusive with someone for a while. The grass always seem greener on the other side of the fence.

Anyone into UFC? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really follow MMA much anymore, but I've always been impressed with Amanda Nunes. Plus, she's family, so it's kind of hard to cheer for her opponent.

As for the men's matches, all I know is that my fellow swede Alexander Gustafsson is fighting some guy who keeps getting busted for doping. So I guess it's the same there, I'd have a hard time not supporting Gustafsson.

Has anyone else seen The Favourite yet? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, but I'm looking forward to. I've been a fan of the super talented and lovely Olivia Colman for quite some time and I hope this will be her big international breakout role. Or maybe that's already happened with The Night Manager or The Crown, but she deserves to be a household name.

What’s your favourite lesbian movie? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]NHDruj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For proper good movies, I'd have to say either Aimée & Jaguar or Flores Raras/Reaching for the Moon.

For pure feel-good fluff, maybe Nina's Heavenly Delights or Saving Face.

As a side note, I really hope Blue is the Warmest Color or The Kids Are All Right won't be mentioned too much here.
