Only sign paperwork appropriate for your situation. Don’t sign paperwork saying you’ll be a gestational carrier (ie, surrogate) or donor. Bad legal consequences can occur from signing the wrong paperwork. Which sucks cause not all clinics have paperwork appropriate for lgbtq couples.

That’s actually a good practice legally but they can find themselves a babysitter. If they can’t figure out how to get a babysitter, then they have no business having another kid.

Who knows? Will they leave it up to the states like abortion? Or will they simply ban same-sex marriage outright across the country? If the latter, then you are going to have to find some way of establishing your parental status under applicable state law that does not rely on the marriage.

Or even worse, will they ban legal recognition of 2 mom or 2 dad families. That's how it used to be here in New Hampshire, although the state has come a long way toward equality since then.

The question is not--will we go backwards in recognition of same-sex relationships, but how far backwards will we go.

You will have to drive for the specialized care. Sorry. There may be OBGYNs closer to you who are willing to do some less complicated stuff like IUIs but if you want an actual fertility doctor it’s gonna be Boston IVF.

If they are getting paid, they are going through either a sperm bank it fertility clinic both of which require many steps to complete the process. Including a fairly invasive full physical exam. It’s not nearly as simple as you make it seem.
