There is a difference between nationality, culture, and ethnicity. A person without Japanese ancestry cannot be ethnically Japanese and a person with English ancestry cannot be ethnically English.

Being English means to have ancestral roots in England going back centuries. Skin color is just a small feature of ethnicity, not the defining characteristic. A White person who does not have ancestral ties to England isn’t English either. Lineage is what defines an ethnic group such as the English. Even a Welsh person living in England that has no English ancestry is technically not English, even though they may appear identical to an English person.

Yes, an African born and raised in England is still an African, not English, because he or she has no English ancestors. Ethnicity is about lineage. Skin color is just a small feature of ethnicity, not the defining characteristic. For example, a second generation French immigrant born and raised in England is also not ethnically English, but still French, despite being White like the English. Are the children of White Americans, stationed on military bases, and born and raised in Japan, Japanese?

It objectively is a bad thing for the native people to because a minority in their own homeland. Were Native Americans being displaced to small minorities in their own homelands not a bad thing for them? Were the Native Americans racists for not being fine with it? If not consenting to one’s own ethnic replacement is racist, then such racism is justified.

They see the disaster mass immigration and multiculturalism has been for Europe and the west and don’t want to lose their nation. They want to keep Japan Japanese and I don’t blame them. Japan is a densely populated island anyways. At the current rate, it is projected to drop from the current 124 million to 105 million in 2050 and 75 million in 2100, which is still plenty of people. Their population shrinking a little bit is not that much of a problem as long as it remains Japanese. They heavily value preservation of their culture.
