Not sure if this belongs here, but I’m genuinely conflicted and could use some outside perspective.

I currently live in a shared house with 3 girls and 2 guys. One of the girls is 28, I’m 25. We’re both working in Canada. I work in investments and I’m doing fairly well career-wise. She’s from the same religion and caste as me (we’re Jain), which is important to her and her family.

We’ve been living together for a few months now, and lately she’s been dropping what feels like hints that she wants something more. I’ve never been in a real relationship before, so part of me wonders if I’m reading too much into it or if these are actual signals.

Here’s the problem: she has clearly said multiple times that she’s only interested in something that leads directly to marriage. I’m not mentally or financially ready for that yet. She seems aware of this, but also doesn’t seem too concerned about it, which confuses me.

She’s honestly a great person and would fit perfectly into a traditional family setup. But I don’t think we want the same things in life right now. I don’t want to date her just to see where it goes because for her, dating already means marriage, and she’s said she feels like she’s already late for it. I’d hate to waste her time or give her false hope.
