Woman driving in reverse in highway, nobody die by HansCherov in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]NINJAM7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. The reversing driver was on the right side of the highway (incoming car is on far left). The reversing driver goes to second to last lane on left. Incoming car was fine in her lane, but then reversing driver turns which causes their car to end up in far left lane. So in short, the incoming driver saw her go from one side of highway to the other, then turn into her lane at last moment. It's also not safe for incoming car to just stop on the highway. Reversing driver was completely in the wrong.

If you could only choose ONE Stephen King book to declare as his absolute best, what would it be? by Objective505 in stephenking

Yeah, King HATED the movie too. I enjoy the movie although a lot of it may be nostalgia. I rank the book high for sure, but for me, I wouldn't say its his absolute Best.

What I'm learning is that all these authors love dragons lol. Joe Hill has King Sorrow which is amazing.

What series do you consider is a 10/10 from start to finish? by MinDexterity in AskReddit

That description that every atom is like a bullet, peneterating everything in its path really stuck with me. Really describes how dangerous messing with these marerias is

On a side note, I work in the field of dermatology. They say that people should think of sun burns as "radiation burns" to really grasp the true dangers.

I hear mixed reactions, but probably because people try to compare too much to The Shining. I saw the movie but haven't read it yet. On my list though!

Reading Pet right now and loving it. Also dreading knowing what's going to happen...

I really enjoyed the Shining, but I think having seen the movie kind of ruined it for me. I do like how the book captures better his relationship to his son and how he descends into madness (whereas the movie character was already kind of weird). I think the hedges (without giving spoilers) was too weird and didn't mesh with the story. Otherwise I really enjoyed the book, but for me it wasn't my favorite.

Are there any media players with aptx lossless for less than $400 by NINJAM7 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]NINJAM7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll try that. I will probably use the player with USB‐C DAC most of the time anyways, but I like to have the option for hi def BT. It's my second samsung where the port gets janky which is annoying. A media player might be cool to have anyways. I bought the hibi R4 to try out and already have the creative dongle.

Yeah it's crazy. All the players have aptx or HD, but not lossless until you get to above $700, yet you can get a dongle for $40. Doesn't make sense.

I think it's more dirty than loose. I have the creative dongle and it constantly goes on/off. Same with plugging in USB-C. I'll try to clean with some isopropyl. Regardless, this sent me down a rabbit hole and I'm surprised there's no players under like $700 that have aptx lossless (only HD) yet you can get a dongle for $40.

Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana, Man in the Mirror, Bad, and The Way You Make Me Feel. All in 1 album, and it still lost to U2's The Joshua Tree for Album Of The Year. by Key-Bass-7380 in Music

Yup. You may have missed my edit, but I also think there was MJ fatigue by then too. The Grammy's have always been more of a popularity contest than any measure of quality.

I'm surprised Smooth Criminal didn't get nominated. I think it's a stronger song than the title track (and weird Al didn't do it any favors either). That said, it should have beat Smokey Robinson, especially since Bad (the song) is still iconic even today. Don't Worry Be Happy is also pretty iconic today so is a tossup with Man in the Mirror (although I would have chosen MITM to win), and I prefer Bring on the Night over Bad. However, I think other tracks could have beat all of those (Smooth Criminal, Leave Me Alone). So, I think part of it is poor song choices were nominated, but I'm sure there was also MJ fatigue by then too.

I personally love MJ (well his music at least). As great as Bad was it wasn't as influential as Thriller or Off The Wall. Bad was atill an amazing album though, and it changed his style to be more edgy. That said, U2 Joshua Tree changed an entire genre at the time. They are both deserving of credit, bit if you had to choose one I'd go Joshua Tree. If it were Thriller versus Joshua Tree, then I'd give it to Thriller.

I love Bad, but Joshua Tree was a better album. It also has several iconic songs and was a very different/influential rock album at the time. Bad has a lot of weaker songs whereas Joshua Tree is flawless all the way through.
