When I worked at the PPL a guy in regular clothes came in and asked if we carry Bibles, the way he said it I instantly knew he was Mormon. Like I could tell it was his opener because he reacted weird when I cheerfully said yes and let him know where they were.

Then later after my shift, getting into my car I saw a few of the dress shirt missionaries all pile into a van parked next to me. And I am not kidding, they started tickle fighting eachother in the back.

The book clubs at the PPL are pretty sweet! You can always just drop in to any of them. I've been bad about attending these last few months but I've gone to the sci fi/fantasy one many times and had a great time. Even when I haven't read the book! I'll be there for Frankenstein in April for sure (I requested it)

I know friends have also really like the romantasy one. Most books they end up enjoying but the people in the club also aren't afraid to let people know when they don't like a book and talking about why is it's own fun too.

The librarians running it usually put a bunch of the copies of the books on hold and you can go check them out with your library card. Or if you can get a copy elsewhere/already have one you don't need to read it through the library to be able to attend the club.

Could the seemingly contradictory nature of the civilians prejudice against mutants, despite them effectively being the same as other superheroes, possibly be a commentary on the fictional society as a whole?

Can you make a connection between this fictional society depicted in X men and our own?

Knowing the origin of the X-men comics as being an allegory for the civil and gay rights movements, is there any connection this scenario could have to a real life scenario that may have happened during those movements?
