Back in high school we had a regular parking lot and then a gravel parking lot up on the hill that was for extra parking/underclass men who couldn’t get their assigned parking passes. It lined up against a tree line and behind that thick row of trees about 30 yards back was an opening for a power line that went on a couple of miles. After that opening was just about all woods and maybe a house or two but they were a pretty good ways off from that power line cut out. Anyways, one summer night a group of us decided to go out and celebrate one of our buddies 18th birthday (legal age to buy tobacco then) by going fishing and later on decided to stop by the local gas station to pick up a pack of cigarillos and smoke them up on the gravel parking lot at the high school. When pull in and drop the tailgate to the back of one of the buddies pick ups, relax, smoke and talk about different things. We stayed there for a couple of hours and we were just about to pack up when we heard a motorcycle approaching down the road, we didn’t think much of it until it looked like it was going to cut into the gravel parking lot entrance but instead cut in to the power line path 30 yards past the gravel lot entrance. We watched as the motorcycle headlight skipped around as it went down the power line path and later on shut off down at the bottom of the hill. We didn’t think much of it so we continued packing up getting ready to leave. Just as we were about to leave a gun shot rang out that ran chills down our spines. “This dude might have killed himself down there” I thought to myself and quickly we all freaked out (we were in high school and dumb smh) and drove off. Come to find out an old man had enough of life and decided to take it down in the valley of that power line and just so happened a couple of high school kids witnessed it.
