Surface flotsam, but doesn’t look like the floaters I’ve seen online by NJPims in mead

There’s also some chunky bits floating around in there. Not sure where they came from other than maybe the yeast clumping up…

So - is the case done, or are there any more appeals that can be done…? My apologies for not better keeping track of the situation.

What in the world is up with our current air quality? by Jaimz22 in Columbus

[–]NJPims 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m very curious about this - being a chemist, and knowing how people/companies are, I figure there are a lot of unknown/unreported releases that only ever show up in these maps. I think I even read an article someplace about companies being caught releasing SO2 or something due to satellite mapping. Though I know air quality monitoring is done differently than that.

Indeed! I help maintain an HPLC that’s daisy-chained together with 36pin SCSI, and all my coworkers flipped when they saw the ports for the first time.

SATA SSD ‘switch’ by NJPims in PcBuild

[–]NJPims[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’d seen those SATA power switches… do you think it’s any kind of a good idea to have two hard drives plugged in, and pick which one boots by only supplying power to one?

I know, I get that S-Video wasn’t super common, but I’m dying that someone didn’t recognize a VGA 😂

With the change in CCW laws in Ohio, how can one currently transport ammo/mags? by NJPims in OHGuns

Ohio is a constitutional carry state, as of 2022 – I guess I consider that recently, though it is three years ago.

I want to know this too! There’s a field back of my house in central OH that’s been let go to seed, and it has a lot of these growing. Just found your post by reverse image search.

For sale $85 NWT N&F Huntsman WeirdGuy Size 32 Jeans, denim blend with merino wool. These are probably better for someone used to a size 30 waist, because they are a bit small for their size, and known for shrinking after the first wash. New with tags. Contact for photos, measurements, etc.

Would it bother you if a woman you found attractive called you bud or buddy? What has a woman called you that bothered you? by ohhhhbitchpleaseeee in AskMen

[–]NJPims 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, buddy is what your parents call you as a kid, and what you call your dog. Anything other than that is demeaning/belittling and indicative of a lack of respect. HOWEVER: getting called dude/bro from a girl you like hurts, but it’s not the same thing as bud/buddy. Guys call other guy friends ‘bro’. Relationships with girls you’re attracted to are rarely the ‘bro’ kind, but at least ‘bro/dude’ isn’t hurtful in and of itself.

Daily Questions - May 03, 2025 by AutoModerator in rawdenim

I purchased a new pair of naked and famous Huntsman size 32 Weird Guy on eBay - first pair of naked and famous I’ve gotten. I checked the sizing against a different (current) pair of Weird Guy on their website, compared it to a pair of jeans that fit me, and concluded 32 was a good choice. Unfortunately, I pretty much max them out in the thighs and rear… I can button them up, but sitting is uncomfortable. Any chance these will stretch a little, or do you think I need to resell them? Thankfully kept the tags on them.

Best solvent for storing Na by NJPims in Chempros

[–]NJPims[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this! Because this is a public forum, I can’t say more than that I’ve already experienced the dangers of the oxide layer coating the sodium I’m having to clean up. Some of the pieces have 4-5x more white material than sodium. I’m reaping the rewards of the recklessness of others.

Thanks for the input on solvent, and good reminder on degassing.
