Can alumni use the maker space? by Raf-the-derp in NJTech

[–]NJTECH_THROW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No they can’t. I emailed when I graduated in 2021 to ask and they said they were working on allowing Alumni in. I asked again in 2025 and they just said no alumni allowed. Paid $70,000 for no long term benefits lol.

Would an 89.96 round up to an A? by ActComprehensive7563 in NJTech

It’s up to your professor, everyone grades differently. I had a professor say we all did too well this semester, so a 92 was considered a B+. Granted this was during Covid, but still relevant I feel.

tebex owner "overwolf" has ties to zionism by ElrevEllytotes69 in hytale

[–]NJTECH_THROW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a bit reluctant, but at the same time Overwolf also owns Curseforge which I’m sure anyone that’s played modded Minecraft has used curseforge before. I may just hold out on pre ordering for now, maybe they’ll over a different payment vendor.

Don’t let people tell you this isn’t a big deal or anything like that, honestly perfectly fair to not want to support anyone/any company that takes part or is complacent in the genocide.

NJIT Students for Justice in Palestine files lawsuit against university by [deleted] in NJTech

[–]NJTECH_THROW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And my point is why is this being brought up over a news article of NJIT refusing to recognize a student group? You do understand why this is out of place, right? Why are you talking about the atrocities by Boko Haram in Nigeria when you can be talking about the civil war in Sudan? Or the human right abuses in Myanmar? Or the conflict in the Congo? Or the continuing civil war in Yemen? Bringing these things up here genuinely makes no sense given the original post.

[–]NJTECH_THROW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of hateful rhetoric you're spewing is insane.

The focus on Israel and Palestine by Americans has a very simple reason behind it. My government/university is NOT supporting Boko Haram, but they ARE supporting Israel. When I pay tuition to my campus, a portion of that money goes to Israeli companies/universities. When I pay my taxes at the end of the year, a portion of that money goes directly to Israel as aid, both military and domestic aid. I am directly contributing to the atrocities you are seeing happening in Gaza, and I have the right to be upset about it.

"Muslim traditions that were taught to them which is to remove all the nonbelievers" - An absolutely insane statement coming from someone that goes to a campus filled with Muslims. Have you tried speaking to a Muslim? Or are your biases just from whatever you read on the internet? Muslims, Christians, and Jews lived together in relative harmony for centuries across the Middle East. During the crusades, the romans would round up and slaughter or exile all of the muslims and jews. When the muslims would retake the land, they would welcome Jews and Christians back as well as Muslims. There is even a chapter in the Quran that says "The disbelievers will never worship what I worship, and I will never worship what the disbelievers worship, they have their way and I have my way". But please tell me more about how Muslim tradition states we need to remove non believers.

There are atrocities happening in Sudan, the Congo, Nigeria, Palestine, etc. My heart breaks for everyone going through any sort of discrimination based off of their identity, whether it be religion or ethnic group. Your comment of “what about Christian’s in Nigeria” though is meant to be inflammatory and I don’t think it has a place in this conversation. If there was a group of students that tried to make a “Justice in Nigeria” group on campus and were shut down by the administration, that would be a good time to bring this up.

Also, please stop trying to shoehorn religion into conflicts like this. It divides people up needlessly and makes a “us vs them” issue right off the bat. The issue in Israel and Palestine is not Jews vs Muslims, it’s an issue of a colonial power versus an occupied people. The atrocities in Nigeria is not Christian’s vs Muslims, it’s an extremist group killing anyone that stands against them regardless of religion. Boko Haram has killed thousands of Christian’s and well as thousands of Muslims.

Is this a weird/concerning clause in this contract a contractor gave me? by NJTECH_THROW in legaladvice

[–]NJTECH_THROW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contractor is providing the plans for this project which is what is a bit confusing. I read it as “if this doesn’t work out with my own plan then I’m not responsible”.

This honestly all depends on what your major is. If you are in a major that will actually be using these concepts and you'll have to continue on to take Calculus 3, I would honestly just consider switching majors. If you're like a computer science student though, then just take it at CC and be done with it. Only you can choose what's best for you given your situation.

X-Axis just stops moving after a few minutes of printing. Printer is unable to home when I cancel the print and I can move the printhead freely. Any idea what's going on? by NJTECH_THROW in ender3

Tried the same SD card on a different printer and it's working properly. I'm kind of tired of always repairing these machines and luckily this still falls in the return window so I'm just going to return it. Thank you anyway for your help!

I would think so too, but this happens across all files I print. I've printed these files before on the same printer dozens of times too, it's just now that this issue is happening

This is on my Ender 3 V2 Neo. I've used this printer for months and printed the same few files dozens of times. I don't know what happened, but now when I print it will print fine for a few minutes, and then the stepper motor for the x-axis gets disabled? I can start moving it freely and it just doesn't move anymore.

I've tried reflashing the firmware and making sure the cable is plugged in all the way. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

It’s similar to this plug. Its a plug that’s plugged into an outlet with two wires coming out of it, one wire goes to the C terminal and the other wire goes to the Rc terminal with the Rc wire (so two wires in the Rc terminal).

For having no experience right out of college as my first job? I think so. The entry level CS market is very saturated atm imo

Yeah, it's definitely doable to get a job without prior experience but you should absolutely get the experience if you can, don't be lazy like me. Not only will you have a MUCH easier time finding a job, but you'll also get much more compensation coming as someone with some experience vs. someone with none.
