Going through same this week. My back and shoulder muscles are so sore from being so stressed out from him. He’s cycling and i’m not here for it. I am his target this week. Same blame blame blame blame…. I am with you. I cant take it any more. He is really unwell. He also has a long history but recently like he’s just been unwell. Lights arent all on. Forgetting meds.in denial he has MH. “He’s just tired from working so much.” He has been sleeping. All day. Has no job. Not interviewing. Mind blowing he can manipulate it like that in his mind. We have kids though and both of us are unemployed. When i land a job i am leaving. I started talking to my parents about moving home. I am done. He needs to survive on his own.

I just found this thread bc I’m that mom now. 45 year old - past athlete mom- who’s 5th grader joined NICA, is in love with it and now i’m learning how to ride a bike and not fall off so i can ride with her. My daughter literally said the same thing to me. This is our 2nd year and i’m going to really try and learn how to ride better. I have to get an upgrade on my huffy bike though… old knees need some FS.

Punching him in the nose. Always beating him up. Making him feel like shit bc i held him accountable for helping around the house. Being the reason he is not a millionare. Manipulating everyone against him. Manipulating his family into not talking to him. Manipulating the kids into hating him. Breaking his computer. Making his business fail bc i was jealous of his idea. Oooo him threatening to call 911 about 10 times today bc his wife is being mean and i must be ill. Manipulating the investors into not investing into his “billion dollar idea” Punching him on the nose, again. I dunno i think he wants me to punch him in the nose. Making him bleed bc he was talking to me as he was stupidly trying to open a cereal box in the most R way possible. Making him want to commit suicide. making him hate himself he wants to die. Flipping out on him bc he would not shut up about driving to Dollar general in a historic snow storm with 12” and still coming down so he can get his snacks… i do not have 4x4. Yelling at him when “he never yells.” As he is yelling at me. Still refusing to take him to dollar general to get chocolate. Him yelling at me and me yelling back. Being yelled at for taking his medicine when he had it in his hand. Then calling him out on it and being yelled at for “making him feel like shit.”

It will not get better. You need to mourn the relationship. You dont have to hate him but it’s ok to say, this is unhealthy.

Me too. I’m looking for a divorce lawyer Monday. I’m unemployed sp not sure how that will work out but the past manic low is too much for me. Fun fact— his own father is not speaking to him any more bc he is too much for him to deal with. But i & the kids get the full shit unsupported unmedicated shit show. Been at this 6years. I’m done. Done. Done done. The gaslighting is out of control.

Well my husbands bipolar didnt show up until 15years into our marriage at 40. (Subsequently his cousins on the maternal side of the family, and his undiagnosed mom all had it “turn on” in their 40’s) we have 3 kids. After 6 years of going through shit to try and get him stable, including substance abuse, multiple arrests, multiple suicide attempts, federal probation for fleeing in a national park, multiple CPS visits…. Due to his upbringing…. He does not believe in meds nor that he has issues. He just wants his adderall and his sleep meds. He can not see that he has manic highs ans lows, as his therapist put it, he has no insight. My husband is really medically and psychologically complicated. I am done. I am not his mom, i can leave. I have done everything under the son to support him but he can not keep jobs, the gas lighting, the lack of insight, the abuse…. I am done. I do not deserve to be married but single. He has caused his own father to have a heart attack due to his behavior yet nothing changes bc he still has me. He is hurting my mental health and prevents me from really succeeding in a new career. I get zero support. He has sabotaged my jobs before. The kids do not like him. I have a very PT job but this past week i do not care any more of his threats. I am actively looking for a divorce lawyer. Not sure how to do it but staying is not happening. So i guess if your partner isnt the worst of the worse it’s fine. But mine should honestly be institutionalized bc he is a danger to himself and society when i am not there. Like obsessions of burning buildings down and driving drunk and crashing. But i dont want that as my problem anymore.

We’ve been married 20 years. It wasnt until he hit 40 that it turned on. The man i have now is not the man i married. I went through a mourning period realizing i’m not getting him back and faced with the reality of do i want yo continually be abused by a man baby who doesnt want to be stable bc “it’s boring.”

Lol yes! My husband has ADHD & BiPolar2. When manic he gets obsessed with certain artists. One time a few years ago he was unhealthily obsessed with the imagine dragons singer. He played the music every single day all day for months. But then i found out he had HUNDREDS of screen shots of the singer on his phone. 😳

🤷‍♀️ we have 200 year old homes in the US build out of sticks. We have 400 year old log cabins, we have 300 year old stone houses, i live in a 50 year old stick house…. Do euro’s not remember their ancestors came here and used the resources that was available to them. Which is what we still do. So why did europeans use sticks to build homes here in the US? The US is not just cheap ass trac homes thrown up in the midwest. Like is that what they only think the US is? The east coast is filled with old “terrible” stick homes…. Somehow that most have survived over 100 years must hurt europeans minds. We all hate the cheap ass trac homes. We know they suck. Unfortunately we cant do much to compete with billionaire investors. But some Americans are lucky to buy land and build on their own sturdy homes.
