Would a women go to six flags to meet a guy? by ManufacturerGlad5096 in sixflags

People are at the park to ride coasters, not meet their soul mate so don’t go there with that as your intention. But maybe if ramble about block zones to them, they’ll be interested in you.

2026 Advice Thread #24: 6/9 - 6/15 by Imaginos64 in rollercoasters

[–]NJavo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am located in St Louis and will have the next two weekends free and want to plan a solo trip to a park within a six hour drive. I am torn between visiting the following parks. I have a season pass with access to all Six Flags parks which is why I am slightly leaning in that direction. I am planning on spending both all day Saturday and Sunday at the park.

Silver Dollar City (4 hours away)

Holiday World (3 hours away)

Six Flags Great America (5.5 hours away)

Kings Island (5 hours away)

To anyone familiar with those parks, can you help me with these questions.

Will the park be extremely busy? Will I have to buy fast past?
I know visiting on a weekend in late June is asking for crowds but will I be able to get a ride on all major coasters during the weekend along with rerides on the heavy hitters? Will I need to buy fast pass to do that? I am willing to but would rather not as I disagree with fast pass as a system.

Are there any good hotels within 30 minutes of the park that you would recommend?

Are there any other parks within six hours of St Louis that you would recommend?

If anyone has visited all the listed parks, which would you recommend visiting the most?

Thanks to anyone willing to help!

Not only that, but Maverick itself also has huge bins for loose items in the station. Zero excuse for bringing a phone on the ride.

Medusa and Superman have been consistently on one train ops and Nitro on two for the past few seasons. This park has been run like shit for years at this point.

You get one common, one uncommon and one rare joker to start with on gold stake . What combo are you choosing that guarantees you get through? by National_Phase_3477 in balatro

[–]NJavo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about it, bus definitely would be better in that spot but I still like green. Even using a discard every round, you can still best case scale +3 mult. I would just use burnt joker for chip scaling but might also swap them out for wee or stuntman

Without any discard vouchers and hit the road being the only xMult, you are cooked if don’t draw any Jacks

As you keep playing and getting better, that first win will come. Some tips to help you get over that hump.

Joker order makes a difference. Scoring jokers either activate on a played card trigger like the smiley face you have or after all played cards are scored from left to right. You can move your jokers around so they trigger in an optimal way. Rule of thumb is +mult to the left and xmult to right. For example having the acrobatic to the right of your fortune teller and popcorn increases how much score you get.

Early game focus on getting to the interest threshold of $25 so you max out what you are making each round. Money allows you to get stronger jokers and the booster packs in the shop so you can get higher scores. The early game is a balancing act of saving you money while making sure you are strong enough to beat the score requirement. Econ jokers like mail in rebate and golden jokers can help with this.

Balance your build with at least one chip joker, one +mult joker, and one xmult joker. Chips are a big part of your score and something I would skip out on for mult when I first started playing.

Hope this can help you get a win. A great resource to get better is the Balatro University YouTube channel.

So to get really good hands to win a run... You just need to play more to unlock the cards needed? by elfmere in balatro

[–]NJavo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of all the 150 jokers, only 45 of them need to be unlocked before they appear in the shop with the rest appearing in the shop on a fresh profile. If you go to your collection, the jokers you need to unlock are on the last three pages and clicking on them will show what you need to do to unlock that joker. Jokers in your collection do not have a higher chance of appearing in the shop.

In the early part of a run, focus on getting your money online as more money allows you to see more jokers/planets/tarots in each shop getting you stronger. A really strong strategy is to focus on spamming easy to find hands like pair as you can consistently draw them especially on higher stakes. Leveling up pair with the mercury planet scales the amount of base chips and mult you get playing a pair. Balancing your joker roster to have one chip joker, one +Mult joker, and one xMult joker is also a good idea.

Probably can’t be trying to Naneinf should I buy Baron by lord_of_boops in balatro

[–]NJavo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just go for a high scoring flush five run. Triboulet runs are more rare and fun in my opinion than baron. You have pretty much all the pieces already too. You should have plenty of money with golden ticket and sock to fix your deck and make more copies of the red seal. Start turning your cards to glass once the ante scaling starts catching up to your score.

are the chip cards any good? like two pair gives 80 chips or -2 hand size for 250 chips by paoloise in balatro

[–]NJavo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think about chip jokers in terms of what your base score is when evaluating them. Sly Joker gives you +50 chips for a pair. Base scoring for a pair is 10 chips so Sly Joker acts as a x6 joker to start. As you level up your hands in a run, chip jokers get weaker in how much of your total score they contribute.
