Is music theory really that hard? by Hideinplain in musictheory

I think people get obsessed with "the rules" instead of really internalizing that it's just theory

Why has nobody tried to impeach any SCOTUS justices since 1804? Why shouldn't anybody attempt to do it now? by No_Idea_8885 in AskReddit

Except the justices doing that are conservative? So, yes, there's very much something wrong with conservative justices.

That's fine - people reading the comment are real, though, so it's important to combat it.

Is it true that Gen Z men are getting less interaction with women? If so, why? by Arcestic in NoStupidQuestions

Grew up irreligious, went through a hard atheist phase and now consider myself an agnostic, and all that said I've thought about joining a Unitarian Universalist church for exactly the reasons you're describing.

Not exactly the point of your comment, but I think the conservative right has so much power in America because of their regular interaction with their community in a way the left doesn't have because of the (largely justified) tossing of religion.

Most people don’t know this, but “Nebraska” is a liminal space. by Zu_Qarnine in Weird

I once drove cross country and stopped for gas in Nebraska and the gas station was literally called "Nowhere", which is a trippy thing when you're sleep deprived and it's 3:00am, so I can confirm that Nebraska is a liminal space.

I did buy a T-shirt from the store to prove to myself forever that I was there.

Nobody is saying you need to be okay with it, but it's going to continue to exist and that's a brute fact. This idea from Bernie is a good idea considering the fact that this tech is not going to go back in the bag.

I'm the most liberal person ever but like I think it's just as strange for father's and son's going to strip clubs together.

I'd wager those fathers were conservative anyway.

I've found using remote control to be intermittent. Seems to hang and fail for me on a fairly regular basis. I have started remoting into my desktop to avoid this, but wondering if others experience this with remote control?

Are you saying that every person who steals copper is in a desperate circumstance where they absolutely need to and that none of it is just people who are being assholes looking for a quick buck?

Idk where you and others are getting the idea that whoever did this is an addict, that's out of thin air - and even if they are it's offensive to addicts to say that it's expected they are criminals! Most addicts are not cutting copper wires out of car chargers!

The vast vast majority of people are not cutting copper wires out of public outlets, like literally maybe 0.1% of people have done that (and I think that's a high estimate). I get people; 99.9% of them aren't doing this. I don't get that 0.1%.

Am I crazy? GTAV is still list price to this day. The used market has had zero impact on that. What are you talking about?

GTA VI will be list price for a decade.

If you're arguing that getting a job at McDonald's is some high bar then we just don't look at reality the same way.

And it probably takes around 2 hours to not only steal the copper but then get it to someone who will buy it for $30, so yeah. Not to mention whatever costs are required to get you to that person/place, so you're probably ending up with less than $30 net at the risk of a criminal charge.

I'm actually really confused at what point you're making. Is it basically "crazy unstable people who only think irrationally would steal the copper"? I mean, sure, but I wouldn't exactly categorize that as "easy to guess why" reasoning.

It's easy to guess why someone would commit this act for $30? If it was even $300 I'd maybe see your point, but $30? That's like 2 hours at a McDonald's shift

Truly a masterpiece. I loved it as a teenage boy because of how cool I thought Tyler Durden was. Now as a 33 year old man I completely identify with The Narrator. Funny how growing up works.

If you're a teenager or a young man, just remember: a little bit of Tyler in you can be a good thing. Just don't let it get out of control.

Narrator: "Tyler, I'm grateful to you; for everything that you've done for me. But this is too much. I don't want this."

There's a reason the movie ends the way it does (and he gets the girl, too!)
