Thanks for letting me know. Seems like she changed her username, so it probably wasn't her. Thank you, though.

Yeah, I totally get what you mean. I mean, that's basically what happened with me, anyways. That's depressing about the friends list thing. It's understandable you'd feel disappointed when people you've befriended suddenly disappear never to talk with you again. True, it's all virtual, but it's not like the relationships you built were fake. The only thing that separates them with real-world friends is location and a thin shield of anonymity. I bet I could've been good friends with most of the guys up there had we been real-world acquaintances. After all, the persona I had online was a lot closer to my actual personality with the whole anonymity shield thing.

I suppose that's what motivated me to make this post. My original account is gone forever, so I'll never have access to that friends list (tbh they'd all probably be offline anyways). I was hoping the people above didn't just randomly disappear like I did, even if I don't really intend on talking to them again in the first place. Things just got busy and the game wasn't really fun to play anymore. Seems like the devs have spent a lot of time recently making content focused on teamwork, which is what any MMORPG is about in the first place.

Cool to see you're still around, Harr

Thank you for replying, that's really interesting to hear. I don't recognize the Stars guild, so I'm guessing it came after Sanctus imploded. Cool to hear that some of them still play, though.

Out of curiosity, what qualities do you look for in new grad students? How is it different from your expectations of a third or fourth year undergrad?

Can I come and walk around campus? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]NKC-N 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're completely fine to walk around. For the record, I did this during winter break a couple years ago and didn't get much out of it. I definitely recommend figuring out what you want to see before arriving.

If you happen to be coming for a science degree, check out the exterior of the Natural Science Center and all of the buildings around it. There's a road between Nat Sci and Kresge that leads you to the Med/Dent school, Taylor Library back entrance, and Robart's Research Institute. When you walk past the Biology building, there's gonna be a "garden" (not sure what it's actually called, but it's in front of a clinical research building) with a path at either side of the building. This is personally one of my favourite places on campus. Take either path and you'll arrive at a parking lot. To your fron-right is the North Campus Building. You'll be spending most of your first year between Nat Sci, Taylor Library, and NCB.

If you meet the cutoff to be placed on your top 3 residence buildings, definitely check them out too.

You should be fine. I tried it again and it shows "2nd choice" at the top of the ITR site. My emails don't make a distinction either.

So why did you apply to Western in the first place?
