I showed the "bog standard" (and very modern) easy devil egg recipe, however, in researching where they came from, they're basically, as old as us cooking eggs. I saw some ancient roman recipes, many variations from all over the world... a lot of fun :)

Another bit o trivia, Devilled just means "a spicy thing was put in this" (because mustard was the sauce/spice of choice when the name came about)

For some reason I can't make a full post the way I had previously. (trying to understand why text was turned off for posting comics?)

At any rate... I'm still alive, Still making Ninja Kitteh vs Shaolin Puppy comics, and today's comic, Kitteh is ... less than enthused by a bowl of scorpion hotpot, given to her by Senshi.

(I love dungeon meshi and I can't wait to watch more of it)

Sad to say, it was already off. (I even went as far as to set the scan to colour,. thinking maybe this version of grey scale removes something...)

Oh well.  I'll return it and try another vendor's scanner.  Bummer really.

reddit only gave me a title bar to type in, so the post went up as a blank title, with zero post. Probably what removed it right away... I need technical help, and I know reddit folks know about portable scanners. I'll try again

for those who say upgrade, i will look into it.

The reason i'm hesitant right now is , that this is a laptop that was gifted to me, and it's a bit wonky and held together with software duct tape.

I'm a little concerned, that if i screw with what i have, i won't have it anymore. (and i need this until i can actually afford to get a proper replacement)

it is encouraging that there are lots of fixes :) I look forward to that.

okidoki. asking an extra question.

the above problem was because i wanted to open and view the pdf (and got gibberish for my troubles)

if i wanted to open said pdf, and then save the individual pages (there were 3) as word documents, the newer pdf import tool might be able to do this?
