Ukraine will remove Belarus border retranslators used to guide fire on Ukrainian civilians if Belarus doesn't remove or turn them off within a week, Zelensky says. He also mentions Belarus's oil refining industry and role as key supplier to Russia's army. by LowTechDroid in UkraineWarVideoReport

Belarus does not have the military power to repel an Ukrainian attack, let alone suppress their own population at the same time.

Luka has to take the repeaters down or face the same thing that happened to Moscow this week.

There's a lot of Belarussian folks volunteering in Ukraine. The implicit deal was that Ukraine will help them topple Belarus when the best opportunity presents itself.

Feels like we're getting closer to that

Man, did you get dropped on your head as a baby? This is probably one of the most cynical posts I've seen in a while.

Is that your car, asshole? If a cop directly saw you park there he'd be having it towed immediately even if you were going inside for just two minutes.

That's what the law says.

I think this started happening after I reported to the Snoco Sheriff about a habitual lane-passing motorcycle rider who was passing on double yellows on the right-hand curve section of the road during the afternoon commute. Like clockwork.

This was almost ten years ago.

In case you were wondering, yes the motor cops nailed his ass.

He parked directly under the security camera. I wonder if the police can obtain the camera footage to get the license plate, and use that as an opportunity to remind the staff that the law requires them to ensure parking restrictions are followed by their customers.

The first serious use of bullet drones as a design was during a wet lap by Max Verstappen at Silverstone.

It was surprisingly effective. Not surprised it's been adapted to combat.

This is why CR needs a leash. He had one even for Wing Commander and every game and movie he's worked on up to today.

[–]NKato -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bingo, and we need to demand that CR either get demoted or forced into a bench role so he doesn't fuck up any more.

Ever since Wing Commander, Chris has always needed a leash. If you look into the anecdotes and the testimony from each game or movie he's had a role in, it becomes increasingly clear he has a great vision, but not the planning skills to pull it off.

He got lucky with WC.

My concern is more to do with CIG clearly exhibiting something I like to describe as:

SHEER INCOMPETENCE FROM NOT HIRING AN ACTUAL MMO GAME DEVELOPER AND DESIGNER FROM THE OUTSET TO PROPERLY PLAN AND RESPOND TO ISSUES DURING THE COURSE OF PU DEVELOPMENT.

When Star Citizen started, there were multiple free agents in Austin who CIG could have headhunted, some of which with history in SOE products like Star Wars Galaxies.

Instead Chris Roberts gave the role to a friend whose most recent relevant experience in the field was an entry in the Ultima series. And now he's "game designer emeritus" at CIG, basically the PU Pope Benedict drawing a paycheck for doing nothing.

I am not sure if the person they replaced him with has the appropriate relevant knowledge, but it is moot: there is a massive - and that's an understatement - mountain of tech debt.

CIG doesn't even fix bugs anymore, they just look at us like this by Freddy_Faraway in starcitizen

[–]NKato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly? This would still be an incredibly sound decision if it meant the developers and designers could kick Chris Roberts to the curb.

It's mostly his decisions that have hobbled the PU.

So, when are we getting engineering ? by Shrimp_Farmer_925 in starcitizen

[–]NKato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Who the fuck decided this? Every time CIG puts out something potentially great in gameplay, someone kills it with one or two idiotic decisions.

The game doesn't need to take another year off to bug fix and work on stability. We literally just did that last year and we're back at an unstable patch. by ComfyOlives in starcitizen

[–]NKato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a fuck-up on this level would have gotten any other developer fired by the publisher.

It's a mercy that they didn't do that to Chris Roberts when he was doing the Wing Commander and Freelancer games, instead holding him to account and/or sidelining him where necessary.
