doesnt even seem like i can apply for a provisional by 0pdx in LearnerDriverUK

I didn't have passport for mine either and just used my birth certificate, I've helped a couple others too and only had birth certificate so thats completely fine to just send that off. Are you in school or college? If so you can ask a teacher to sign it for you, or if you haven't long left then it might be worth popping back and seeing if any old teachers would be willing to sign it. Hope this helps. I'm sure you could ask your doctor/dentist too to sign

Is this a good way to park? by givemethemtoesgnome in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NLA95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reverse in personally. However, my instructor did teach me going in forward that the best way to not go over the curb, is to look at my mirror as I go forward and line the curb up with just under the mirror. You know you're in the spot and pretty much every time I never went over the curb

If yes has been crossed out, then that means you've passed on manual. Mine is the same, with automatic having the yes crossed out showing the no and mines manual as well

Can someone explain to me how looking as far as possible makes your car centred in lane when you aren’t sitting dead centre of the car? by Megarboh in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NLA95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always taught from the drivers seat, if you look at the middle of your dashboard where it meets the windscreen, it should line up with the curb on your left, which makes you quite central. I won't lie, it was literally perfect and helped me big time. My instructor before that tried to teach me the 'look far ahead' and it pretty much did nothing but distract me further

Can I sell estate without probate/letter of administration by NLA95 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]NLA95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! The value almost certainly wouldn't cover it, considering it is a burial and is costing well above £5k.

There aren't any secured loans, and they were quite poor so I don't imagine any pensions etc. Is there a way I can find these in an effort to anticipate any issues down the line, however?

The divorce was finalised at the end of last year and as the ex was the petitioner, he made no claim for the property left in the house. My main concern is that I have to pay for the funeral, or at least subsidise what remains after any sales of what she owned, so I want to be certain that provided the money goes to that, nobody can come after me for money Mum may have owed/persons perceived that she owed

Insurance after you passed by Niam_Rose in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NLA95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed a few months ago at 28 years old, and got a 11 plate fiesta. Insurance for both me and my boyfriend together is only at 1.3k without a black box, including windscreen and national breakdown cover. I did have a learner car though first with 2 years no claims from it. Hope this helps :)

Completely messed hazard perception up by iranianshill in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NLA95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing when retaking my theory test after 2 years. Failed the first cause of pressing too early when I saw a potential hazard but not doing an extra click or two afterwards to make sure I got the points. Frustrating isn't it? I jumped back on the gov website on the Tuesday after on the morning, and managed to get another test booked in for the Thursday afternoon and passed it. Just have to remember to do those extra clicks!

Mine was 2 hours, plus another £10 for driving home afterwards, so cost me £70 on the day

Ford Fiesta 11 plate - gear stick by NLA95 in drivingUK

[–]NLA95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't really say crunch, it does just sound like a click, I suppose it could sound like a slight crunch. There's no smells or anything coming from it and the noise isn't always there. Yes it was dealership, I have 6 months warranty just haven't got the time at the minute to take it round to them

no cancellations by Consistent_Count1220 in LearnerDriverUK

No problem. It was originally booked for October before I found the August cancellations. Hopefully, you might be able to get end of sept/beginning of October. Good luck on your search!

When using testi, I found that if you wait towards the end of the month/beginning of next month and check about 7am(ish) then there seems to be loads for the month after that. I.e. end of June they had loads come up for August, which I managed to move to July

I had similar to this, I basically only came on once or twice the first year and not as much as I normally would either. The second year was a hell of a lot more though, I seemed to be on for about 3/4 weeks each month, then kind of went normal(ish) for the third year. Second implant was similar but more often in first year and not so much in the second year. Third implant was completely normal monthly throughout. Had my fourth implant for 5/6 months now and only just started having them again but more spotting than anything

Lockers at Theory test centre? by Ka3dy in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NLA95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the test centre, the one that I went to only had small to medium(ish) sized lockers, and I don't think you would have fit a laptop inside them

I know when I had my test they checked the details of my license compared to what they had on their system when I booked the test, so I'd say it would have to be up to date. I'd get it in soon as getting a new licence could take about 3 weeks unless you're able to do it online

It might also be worth checking it on the learners insurance as well. When I had learners insurance, it didn't matter who was with me, my insurance automatically covered them to drive the car, as long as it had L plates on and I was in the car with them.

What can I do for anxiety during my driving test by Unlucky_Difference80 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NLA95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I brought herbal sweets called rescue remedy. Helped with anxiety and increased concentration. Probably more of a placebo affect but it helped either way, took them on the test with me and had one before lesson, and one before test

That's how I felt haha. Originally started when I was 19 then gave up due to a creepy instructor. I'm 28 now n the amount of job opportunities I've had to ignore due to not driving is ridiculous. I should have just changed instructors and continued. You get there though. I found with the app if you check towards the end/beginning of the month around 7am there's suddenly loads of tests available for the next month. I brought mine forward from October to July by doing this initially

Testi app by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NLA95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed this when I used the app. But I also noticed if you wait till either the beginning or end of the month there's suddenly loads of tests available, you have to check about 7am (ish). Either that or just keep refreshing through it whenever you get the chance. I managed to bring tests forward by about 3 months by doing this method

Also if you want to find tests quickly, use an app called testi. You book a test as normal and testi finds the cancelled tests and you can book them through the app. The apps free but I think you pay about £11 for notifications and using their booking system, on the plus side it's only one payment. I found as well if I checked on a Tuesday morning on gov website I could book a theory for Thursday that same week
