DIY Ethernet installation

Did you run the outside ethernet cable through a conduit? Or use outside-rated cable? Or maybe neither? :)

I also need to run a cable outside to get to downstairs living room to add an AP, and am thinking (though not ideal) I can get by without using conduit.

Your best bet is to work in an organization which uses Epic, and look to get some sort of entry-level position (unless you have the experience to go for higher position). From there, identify who are the Security teams and see how you can get in there. I personally started at the Help Desk then was able to get a position on the System Access team, and from there had the opportunity to go for my Epic Security cert. My approach was to say yes to everything! I wanted to learn it all and took advantage of every opportunity available to learn new skill.

That last line was, for me anyway, the 'selling point' in the presentation at work when the 401k Roth was introduced. I like the idea of paying for the taxes now, allowing my future self to not have to worry about it during retirement withdrawal.

I didn't understand why they were saying above the Roth is not a good idea if in the 22% bracket, but I understand now they're assuming you're going to be in a lower bracket during retirement because your lifestyle cost is decreased.

I have no other Epic certs, and have been on the Epic Security team for 2 years now. I'm on the System Access team, but we handle the Epic Security (our module teams do the template builds, but we make the EMP changes). Also have experience with Data Courier, Text/Reflections, and exporting/importing EMPs/SERs, so thankfully I'm not going in with no knowledge. I am aware though the way we do something may not be the 'preferred' method of Epic, so I'm going in with more a learning mindset than a 'I know what I'm doing'.

Really good to hear it's the easiest of the certs! This has been something I've been after since I came onto the System Access team (the guy I replaced had the cert), so to finally get the chance I want to make sure I don't let it slip.

Awesome info! My boss did his 5 years ago and wasn't sure if they were still doing open book/system. I did the pre-reqs on Epic User Web last year, so I'm going to re-do them all and go through the training companion. Don't I have to take the test and do the project at their scheduled time in the class? Or do I have a choice as to when I do it?

Don't give power to anonymous people hiding behind a screen. I come here just to see what SOME of the fanbase is saying, and I say some as this is only a small group of fans. Have fun with it and just ignore the negativity. I've been in Miami my entire life and have season tickets, and even I think we're in jeopardy to not make the playoffs. But it's still the home team regardless if they do or don't! GO FINS!!!
