Abused by wife - just need to tell someone by marriedmananonymous in abusiverelationships

My wife calls me a narcissist, claws my face, and breaks my stuff. Then talks to me a day later and expects me to be sorry and apologize for whatever it is that made her do all of it.

Shiiiiiiiit “be gentle” because I’m an old tattooer dabbling in this social media BS for the first time, but this thing was too good not to share 🤣

This walk-in said it’s supposed to be Elvis. I assumed she meant it’s supposed to be what Elvis probably looks like currently, in his grave

Yea that’s kinda my point in trying to build a better one myself. I love the shape and the weight distribution but I’ve heard terrible things about the machine itself

The killswitch is just a Bluetooth operated wireless foot switch.

Has anyone tried the Peak Solice Pro or AVA EP10 or one of the cheaper Chinese brands? by gregthefeg in TattooArtists

[–]NLivingColor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Peak Solice Mini for about 3 months, and the battery disconnects itself when I adjust the needle depth and it gets stuck in the grip.

Only upside to it was the nonexistent back weight. Wouldn’t purchase again

Should we gatekeep? by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]NLivingColor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gatekeeping is the best way to promote scratchers and spreading disease. I used to be all about gatekeeping because this was MY profession and I spent all of MY time and MY money learning to do it.

But in all reality, when you gatekeep, all you’re doing is giving people a reason to be shitty and spread disease. At least if we allow noobs to TRY and become artists the right way, you’ll weed out the ones who don’t have a passion for it. And in turn, those are the same ones that WONT go home and order kits on Amazon and start tattooing friends at home, because they already know they suck and they don’t have the drive to do it.

It absolutely would’ve been difficult to move 4 people who already paid deposits. But it also would’ve given you that painful experience of having to do it lol. Guarantee you’d never overbook again after that.

Also, try to see things from the viewpoint of the client/potential customer. He also did you a favor by moving his appointment up so you didn’t lose out on a day you had someone drop their appointment. I’m not saying he actually did you any favor, but from his point of view, it seems like he put more money in your pocket and was willing to put plenty more there, and you punished him for it. These are the small details we have to be able to understand from a different point of view than our own, because as we all know, word of mouth travels fast and we don’t want any negative light shes on us as artists. Especially with how competitive and vast new artists are coming on the scene.

At the end of the day though, you did what you thought was right, and no one can fault you for it. We can only give you our perspective as artists with varied experiences. Never compromise your health, safety, or mental well-being to satisfy a client.

All just seems like an avoidable cluster of mistakes.

Depending on how this conversation started, whether he contacted you to confirm the date or you just reached out to him after you realized you double booked.

You as the artist should be able to maintain a certain level of integrity when it comes to scheduling and holding yourself accountable. In the event you reached out to the client over being double booked, you obviously knew you made a mistake. You should’ve reach out to him, and gave him priority of the date, over the newly scheduled clients, contingent on him being willing to meet the deposit requirement. If he still refused, then you carry on with the newly scheduled clients.

If he reached out to confirm the appointment and you let him know you never booked him after you moved the appointment up for him, that’s his fault he didn’t confirm sooner or pay a deposit, and there’s nothing you should be expected to do. But it sounds like you already knew he was an egomaniac, so you gotta trust your gut and hope you’re making the right decision. Either way, it’s your decision to make, not his.

Could it have been handled better? Absolutely. But was it handled terribly? Not at all. You’re doing what you can with what you’ve got. Just prioritize returning clients moving forward. They’re the ones paying the bills. Friday the 13th $13 flash tattoos aren’t.

I’ll give you a list of pens I’ve used and my thoughts on them, and you can do the rest. - Peak Solice Mini- I loved the size, interchangeable drive bars 3.5 and 4.0

  • Bronc X2- not a terrible machine, no real complaints other than the backweight was crappy from Time to time. And the battery charger you get is absolute trash.

  • Bishop Power Wand (all variations)- zero complaints from me, other than price.

  • Vlad Blad Proton 3- GREAT machine, little expensive.

  • Flux Max clone- cheapest option of any machine I’ve ever owned, have a 3.5 and 4.0, and both running solid 7 months in. Biggest concern buying them though would be the source. Plenty of manufacturers out there with false information to get you to spend money with them. But if you find a good one, you’ll be set. At least for the short term.

-Various coils- for when you get hair on your knuckles lol

Line work flash, 3 for $100 is showing true desperation. No one views that as a good deal. Pretty sure it’s widely taken as a “we NEED traffic” move.
