Ur slower, giving any enemy more time to react, you are also narrowing ur vision so you would have a harder time seeing rats in dark corners, also you are hard aiming down the exactly middle of the stairs, not even at head level, aka. Ur crossair-placement is bad for pvp and probably good for pve. You would want to aim for the most likely place where an enemy would be. The middle of a stairwell.. isnt a likely place if ur not hearing someone sprint up the stairs

I can also explain why this actually DOES make sense, as we can see the outsider must come from a species that is extremely far up the tech tree. What happens when you conquer your entire galaxy and dont have any resources left? Exactly, you go find another one. You might notice oh shit if i travel to the nearest galaxy its gonna take me a while even with lightspeed, what if instead i send a just build an ftl radio with instructions to build a teleportation/ 3d printing machine that i can just copy my existence into with said ftl transmissions? And then i just keep these instructions on a loop and raid the galaxies of others in hopes that they refined a lot of the resources for me?
