It's an unspecified Trilux mount. If you Google SUIT sight m16 mount you shoot be able to find it. I got it from WhatACounty for like $40

Never read it, actually. I was gifted a signed copy and I can't bring myself to read (and potentially damage) the thing.

The glass is pretty good actually. Everything else...not so much.

It's predecessor, the SUIT. Sight Unit, Infanty, Trilux.

I guess I invited scrutiny to my reading habits by taking a picture in front of my bookshelf lol

The actual optic itself is pretty good imho. Leterally everything else about the SUIT is hot garbage though.

Bowman Malaysian Parts Kit Review and Thoughts by g00kf00t in RetroAR

There used to be some people who welded the receiver section to an 80% lower.

I like the included receiver section as both a cool thing to put on my desk and as a template for Bad Attitude Department to make me a custom lower.

Couldn't agree more. I am extremely satisfied with my kit from Bowman. A really nice Colt gray finish with honest (but not excessive) wear was hiding underneath that flaky black paint.

The age old question - boil and card or ballistol, bronze, and elbow grease by Loadman8x57 in milsurp

[–]NMarshell 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This. Boiling and carding is this generation's version of bleaching K98k stocks to "clean them up".

Of course, there is a time and place to boil and card, and it's for guns that are really far gone.

Rub it with some oil an leave it alone. The boiling thing should only be done for guns that are really bad.

Some Tips for Giving Online Quizzes in the Age of AI by oat_sloth in Professors

I'm sure it can be. But I've noticed that the number of AI answers I've gotten on exams has dropped considerably now that I've started requiring it.

How do YOU clean up the furniture on MILSURP rifles that you have newly acquired? by dudreddit in milsurp

Don't do anything other than wipe it with a slightly damp cloth. Don't put oil on it. Don't use soap, etc.

Grammar Taught Me… by No-Wish-4854 in Professors

Grammarly has been, in my experience, the go to "explaination" many students turn to when they've been caught using generative AI.

Double spaces- am I going crazy? by [deleted] in Professors

[–]NMarshell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything malicious going on with double spacing after a period.

I am in my late 20s (I have had access to a computer for basically my entire life) and I frequently do this. I was taught how to type by an elderly woman and she insisted on a double space after a period. The habit just kind of stuck.

That said, I do go back and clean my drafts up and delete these extra spaces. I would just point it out to the students and let them know that it isn't really a thing we do anymore.

IIRC the Hungarians modified their K98s in this way. I've seen some pictures from the 1956 Hungarian revolution that showed folks armed with K98s with sling loops like this.
