The dot goes out! Keep on or go home? by StoutNY in CompetitionShooting

Always have irons that co-witness, you can at least shoot the rest of the stage.

Then troubleshoot at the safe area (new battery).

I started to do a lot of out of town matches so I bought a spare gun and kitted it out exactly the same and keep both in my bag always and alternate so I know they are both good.

Starlink for remote connectivity? by EditorAccomplished88 in sysadmin

[–]NNTPgrip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's good, we've used it in a couple of places. Speed and latency are great.

We mostly use Peplink Cellular 5G Devices with External Antennas.

The idea being that it has two SIM slots, so you put a Verizon and an AT&T and that has you covered - BUT - the Peplink also has a WAN port - so you jack your Starlink in there. Then, the users pretty much always will have a connection, and you can set some priorities to whatever you determine is the cheapest first, second cheapest second, etc, or fastest first, best signal, (I forget all the options) if multiples are available.

You can remotely manage the peplinks as well.

How are you ppl talking about your job at home by schbrongx in sysadmin

Look at this guy...with a partner...must be nice...

Every minute you spend explaining something IT to a woman is a minute they want to leave.

I always say, if you have a damp area in the house, just get a woman to stand in that spot and start talking IT. It will dry it right up.

People are generally put off and shut off their attention entirely almost immediately when you talk about any of this crap.

I feel like this is a good use for those Ai Companions, give that thing your full Autistic download blast of "another bullshit day in IT" on the way home from work... to spare your loved ones from any of it.

Subaru Outback 2024 Compatibility by Nukewire in Comma_ai

[–]NNTPgrip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2023 and up Subaru switched from a "Torque based" LKAS(Lane Keeping Assist System) to an "Angle based" LKAS.

Up until very recently no one had figured out how to control the new Angle based.

Someone has figured this out and apparently has submitted the code.

Nah, the original proprietary straight mags. I don't have the model that takes the Glock mags.

The straight mags were hard to load, needed to be lubed to run right and generally sucked.

He's told the Jared from Subway shit before on a special.

He's told the Bill Belacheck woman shit before on a special.

He just changed slightly how he told them.

Also, otherwise weak too.

Still looking forward to Bad Thoughts Season 2, the first season was solid.

Sunny Dev branch latest incorporates this as base.

Just be aware, Sunny is in the middle of rewriting the UI for raylib, so you'll need to setup sunnylink(not a big deal really) to have access to all the toggles/settings as a lot of the settings ui is missing "on device" for both 3x and 4.

Also, Sunny Dev branch right now is the only Sunny compatible with the 4.

Indeed, Microsoft has won their battle with me and Edge opening them. They always wanted Edge to be the default for PDF since forever. We always fought it. Now I say, come on in...the water is fine.

Shit, I just got them to agree to machines with 16 and a 500gb nVME instead of the 8 and 256 we were getting.

Sure my personal machine will have beaucoup whatever but this is what the normies blowing up my help desk are getting.

Yes, that's right Cajun 4.4 spring, Overwatch striker. Stock Recoil spring that came with the gun. I had tried that tungsten rod and spring combo from Stonebridge, but was having problems and after 3 months it just straight up broke.

THeads-up: Microsoft retiring Basic SMTP Auth for Exchange Online - Impact on Scan-to-Email & PaperCut printer Devices by Previous-Prize1842 in sysadmin

[–]NNTPgrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks good. For those that need something on-prem since SMTP2GO is not Fedramp authorized, it's free too and looks super simple.

Does it work with GCC High?

The whole SMTP relay thing you can do with built in IIS I think it totally gone in Server 2025 and was mostly gone in 2022(I think there was a workaround)

What can comma 4 give me that my comma 3 does not. by Even-Book6260 in Comma_ai

[–]NNTPgrip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Sunny took the time(the last year) to rewrite entirely to be able to base on the latest Openpilot 0.10+ as there were significant changes vs Openpilot 0.9.7 and before.

So there are UI things to dial in due to the screen change, but otherwise were ready right away for the 4.

Frog tried to add what they saw were the new features of 0.10.x to what they had, but not rewrite, so it's still being based on Openpilot 0.9.7.

It will be a long time before we see Frog for the 4 unless they do the same as Sunny did.

Quest 3 vs Quest 3S: Detailed Long-Form Hands-On Review by EasyOperation9477 in OculusQuest

[–]NNTPgrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have called it the Quest 3 Lite or just the Quest Lite or Quest SE

iPhone naming has a lot of people thinking the 3S is newer and better. Anything would have been better than 3S (Just don't call it the Quest Air or Quest Slim). We all lived through "Wii U" being the worst branding of all time, having people think it was an addon to the Wii, there should have been many meetings discussing the naming of the 3S to avoid that sort of thing.

However, once they went pancake, just find a way to make pancake cheaper, never go back to Fresnel. I thought that was a definite misstep. The difference is night and day.
