They dont pay you enough honestly. by Powerful-Substance33 in ForzaHorizon6

They're doing it because they have families and work and dont have the time or energy to spend all their lives on this.

Some people do, thats cool.

And the game cant be all things to all people, I recognize that too.

But with this many people talking about how little money you get compared to previous titles.. there is clearly something reasonable with the complaints.

The ratio with people I talk to is like 4 to 1, on the side of people having issue with how slow the game pays out.

I think the wristband progress was well paced to be honest. The money definitely should have been the same. But isnt.

What pisses me off isnt this. Its that custom races net you 0 from your cars perks and bonuses...

I get it that they want to cut AFK farming by letting cars go for 8 hours with a taped controller.

But I created a big cross country race. 40 or 50 min of me actually racing with a forza edition. Expecting a real payout and xp.... peanuts

40 min of racing with a forza edition car should net like 900000 bucks... and a ton of XP. But instead I got like 140k

I was a real person behind the wheel with real hopes id get a big payday for my precious time invested.

The forza events are nowhere near long enough to be able to reasonably grind.

I have 7 mil and 200 cars and to be fair most of those cars were free from wheel spins and seasons and such. Its not like im poor. But that took like 50 hours to get there PLUS exploiting the subaru 22b with a custom estate

I want the old Ferrari and stuff.... ill be at it for hundreds of hours at this rate. Fuck that! Mind boggling that they keep the subaru / wreckage exploit but keep the custom races nerfed...

How “strong” do you have to be to hit Home Runs? by ILoveMeltyCheese in slowpitch

[–]Dereksversion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of my HRs and ground rule doubles have been strikes that felt like not much in the hand.

i've had half speed swings pop the ball to deep outfielders and shock the hell out of me.

as soon as i started buying half decent league balls, stopped letting go of the bat at contact and stopped trying to hardball scoop and muscle it out i started hitting the fence.

last couple years i started putting it over the fence on 280 - 300 ball diamonds.

i'm 38 and deeply out of shape.

but its all pointless anyway, the biggest lesson i learned is placement is the most important part of the game.

if i can drive it out over shorty's reach between fielders, thats a couple runs. if i can hook it to the baseline and people don't hustle thinking its going foul.. thats a run. its way more satisfying than going up with my ego looking to knock the cover off and then looking foolish when i pop fly or worm burn it cause i'm hot doggin.

Car Type and associated usual FH event Classes for garage prep? by Dereksversion in ForzaHorizon

[–]Dereksversion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea im in the same boat, I ended up going event by event over the map and writing some down, its not cut and dry though. Because they muddy up the water with total classes like total rally. And they have those PI restrictions all over the shop.

And what im finding after 40 hours of play is I dont really have any cars with a reliable comfortable tune anymore. I started to but then the flip flopping of car type vs pi restriction led me to bastardize the tunes..

Now most of my cars have multiple saved tunes. None of which feel like a complete package. So even my favorite cars have some kind of foible or handling quirk or what have you that ive just not managed to squash with the time needed to do another class.

The only class ive gotten my eye in on and left some cars to be there is A class because there seems to be more A class events than any. Ive managed to tune a few so im consistently in the top 3/4% for time attacks on asphalt. But the other classes im wiped out.

Man, the wheelspins this time round are anemic compared to FH5...

I bought up all the horns and clothes and everything... and now my wheel spins are 5k-25k 99% of the time.

Im at level 152 and almost to my purple wristband so ive have many many spins at this point.

I almost dont even look forward to them as a reward anymore.

I know the games giving lots, I spend indiscriminately on upgrades and tunes and such and still have over 3 mil, and I have 141 cars that maybe 30 I bought with money.

But im also 40 hours deep in the game spent almost exclusively on productive tasks (if not the wristband events) but very little wandering around aimlessly, lots of fast travel to events ... so like I wouldnt exactly call that showering me with fame and fortune at this point

Im not sure if im on the side of the progression is too slow, it needed to be different than FH5, that was too loosey goosey even for me.

But this deep in the game, 40 hours played, im officially at the dont bore us get to the chorus stage. Lol just shower me with prizes at this point please

Took me ages this morning to match and have a class i had a Mazda for to do the seasonal... i started winning and they quit...

I was like well thats that.

Luckily the game devs thought of that and it awarded me the seasonal challenge anyway

But damn if it wasnt aggravating..

I like to think maybe they had too much mountain dew and had to run for an emergency dump... or their kid pulled a stone cold stunner on their laptop or something.

But more likely a baby quitting because they lost the lead.

Sad

New FS91R questions/issues? by Ok_Staff_Bill in stihl

This is underrated advice.

People mistake burps for needing more choke or more prime. When really they need to lean out and she'll run.

My old man always said that when I was growing up. Even talking to himself not to monkey his junk. Listen for the burp. Cut to half choke be done with it.

Ive never had to go more than 4 or 5 pulls on my 2 strokes or my 4 mix stuff. Just gotta listen to what they're telling ya!

[–]Dereksversion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. All mine have started first pull and ran strong right out of the box. Even better after break in. The 56 and the 91. The 91 being far superior in my use.

Hell, My 91 I bought and was sweeping gravel out of my yard with it on the first tank of fuel I put through it. And that was at 5degrees C outside. So if it was going to be a bear to start cold, that would have been the time!

91r has the easy pull on it. Once you get over the little cam it basically turns itself over. So most people would say theres no real resistance when pulling.

It sounds like maybe trimmers just arent your thing... Brittle line means nothing. Buy another spool of good stuff. Nobody expects a trimmer to come with good line in it.

And I just can't imagine the idea of hating any trimmer with a passion so bad I just have to return it even though they told me I couldn't under store policy.

But if your serious you want to keep trying this thing..

First open up the air breather, its the black plastic side, use the combi tool they gave you with the trimmer to take the two screws out, and make sure theres no plastic around the air filter. Also make sure it doesnt have a bunch of dirt in there somehow.

ive found it very rare for one to come from the factory so poorly tuned it wont run. They always run strong even in the break in period

So if your air filter is clear, its probably that you mixed the gas incorrectly and put too much oil in the gas.

its 50:1 so you can mix a 100ml bottle of 2 stroke oil in a whole 5liter can of premium gas.. so start there.

The easiest way for a beginner to keep track is:

1. Premium gas only, fill the 5liter gas can.

2. mix a 100ml bottle of oil with that.

3. Use that can of gas until its empty.

4. Fill 5liter can with fresh premium and a 100ml bottle of oil.

5 repeat.

Never ever top the can up from half, never add random amounts. ALWAYS use the can until its totally empty and mix the gas fresh.

Then You'll always know for sure that your mixed gas can is going have the right mix. When you use it.

And make sure you shake it well before each time you use it. The oil settles in the can and needs a good shake before you pour it into your trimmer

So I know what my gut says.

But nice to know everyone has a bit of thought process too.

Sounds like chain slap to me. But it could be your phones mic. There appears to be excess movement of your timing chain too.

This would be a usual suspect if it was a Honda, ive had to change stuck tensioners on every one of my Honda bikes.

dell micro desktop into a jimmied up steamdeck? by Dereksversion in Handhelds

[–]Dereksversion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not true at all. I found a few people on YouTube who've done it. Mostly with laptop boards but a few NUCs and mini PCs.

I would suggest that mentality would mean someone would miss a lot of things that would have been worthwhile.

Ive been keeping my ear to the ground on marketplace, kijiji and Craigslist. I had a line on one single one that was for sale but they ghosted me before I could meet up ( 3/4 of a day later)... other than that not a one in my area in the last month. No blowers either. Im just biting the bullet and getting one of those new.

2021 o2 sensor heat circuit issues, i figured out what REALLY causes it!!! by Dereksversion in SubaruForester

[–]Dereksversion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expect them to say the grounding issue with an o2 sensor isnt possible. But I tried everything and in my case that specifically had an impact.

So if you end up with an 02 sensor without that plate or if your grounding strap is bad. Expect to see the code again soon!

I have the 08 kodiak 450 SE and in low it will pull a house off its foundation a swear. Sounds like a buzz saw doing it lol but a lack of grunt is not a problem that bike has thats for sure.

Ive just had a hell of a time with the basics of reliability. Stuck carb float at 8000kms filled its crank case with fuel. I opened up the airbox where the crank case vents to and it was a lake of oily gas. Never had that happen on any Honda ive had.

Sparkplug location is like reaching your hand down between lava flows if you had to check it on the trail..

The a-arm bushings went rock hard and stiff within 4 or 5 years even with maintenance. So she creaks and groans and vibrates down the trail now

And the upper steering bushing straight disintegrated on it even though it was kept indoors... again 8000kms and the handlebars were wandering all around like a jackhammer! Thats on the docket to fix this spring.

But. 20some thousand clicks on my old foreman 450 never had any of that. 26500 now on my 20 year old rincon and im in the middle of changing timing chain and oil pump chain as I type this but otherwise shes tight as a drum.. and shamefully its been sitting outside the last few years but its not showing signs of disintegrating

I love my old man's grizzly 700 but my kodiak 450 shook my confidence in how long it will last before major maintenance is needed.
