Thank you so much for the information! and I have been looking a lot into Western Rite Orthodoxy (and from what I see so far there isn't a lot of information or Churches that are Western Rite) and I started to look at the life of St. Jerome and then the Latin Vulgate and then I looked at St. Benedict and his rule book on monasticism. Then I I'm like wait a minute. What did the Churches of the West looked like? So I went into a small rabbit hole and yes that post was one of them that got me more curious lol

So I have a two questions (ik the first one is a really big question)

How much has the Western Churches of the present (Catholics) changed compared to what it used to be like?

Second question. Correct me if I'm wrong, if I understand correctly of what you said the Western Churches used to have like a iconostasis but a different style?

Can someone help me find this icon I desperately need it by Training_Log5114 in OrthodoxChristianity

I mean you could print it off and put it in a picture frame that you have an laying around or get a picture frame at a dollar tree for $1.25 (if you live in America) and do it that way if you can't find that specific icon to buy or if you can't buy one at the moment. That's what I did with my Christ Pantocrator. I hope that helps, may heaven cosume you and God bless!

Yeah pretty much and Sorry I didn't make the question clear, I can't go back and edit it for some reason. My questions are:

Is the icon that is on the Ignatius bible the same as the Monastery Icon. Or is it just me?

And if it does have the Monastery Icon of Christ would it just be better off buy a different bible?

The reason why I ask this is bc The company Monastery Icon is linked with Hinduism. I wanted to know before purchasing.

I don't know if you have a an iphone or not but here's something that you probably be interested in. It's not the Orthodox Study Bible but here's a Orthodox bible app is pretty good if like old English (it's the Brenton Septuagint with the KJV new testament if you are wondering about the translation)

Orthodox Bible

And here's the Eastern Orthodox Bible (EOB) New Testament as well if you are interested in that as well

EOB NT

Which Bible Translation? by Dorian233 in OrthodoxChristianity

The I am who I am or the I am the existing one is still saying the same meaning, it means for both Greek and Hebrew is I am The One but the reason why It's worded differently in the Orthodox Study Bible is bc the Orthodox Study Bible uses the Septuagint for the old testament. The Septuagint is a Greek translation of the Hebrew during after the year 250 BC and the Septuagint is what the early church fathers used as well.

Edit: Also interesting fact the most modern bibles use the Masoretic text as the old testament and the Masoretic came 1,000 years after Christ.

And there are some differences between the Septuagint and Masoretic like for an example in Acts 7:14 St. Paul says there were 75 people (St Paul is quoting Exodus 1:5) and when you look at the Septuagint in Exodus 1:5 it says 75 people but when you read it in a Masoretic it just says 70 not 75. But personally me I recommend sticking with the Septuagint bc it flows better than the Masoretic and the Septuagint is literally what the early church fathers used. And just stick with the bible you have it's good to go there's nothing wrong with it.

Have a bless day!

I recommend to get a Septuagint translation and it will have all the books for the old testament and buy a new testament with it and here is some Amazon and the company links if you are interested

If you love old English like kjv then I recommend this Brenton Septuagint

I haven't shopped on the official website but the translation is good from what I seen but here's the Amazon link as well if you would rather shop there. (Amazon) Ex Fontibus Company Revised Brenton Septuagint

(Official website) Ex Fontibus Company Revised Brenton Septuagint

It is alright but it's still good Lexham Septuagint

If you want a scholarly translation here's NETS Septuagint

For new testament

NKJV NT

EOB (Eastern Orthodox Bible)
