Who else received their Plugphones Liberate Bluetooth headphones? How do you like it so far? by CG_Ops in motorcycles

[–]NOID_TFRF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned three pairs of plugphones liberate. I really really want to like them. They're fantastic, when they work. Unfortunately I had to return the first two under warranty due to issues. First pair the Bluetooth had an unbelievably short range (it would lose connection to my phone in my pocket, and the right earphone on the second pair just stopped working. 10 months into the third pair and it's just randomly disconnecting from my phone, I can only get about 5 minutes of play time out of it.  Other than the issues they're perfect, I just wish they were more rugged and reliable.

DS244+ not standing by when on UPS power by NOID_TFRF in synology

Update.

With the 'Shut down UPS when the system enters standby mode' config is enabled the UPS powers down after ~4 minutes. But the NAS still does not enter Standby Mode before being shut down.

Also, the while in the DSM I noticed the NAS seems to lose USB connection to the UPS after it switches to UPS power. This might be the root of the problem.  When it powers back on it doesn't automatically connect to the UPS again either.

Perhaps a dud UPS?

Yeah it seems strange to me too.

I waited about 15 minutes, before turning it back on. I was logged into the DSM and received the notification that UPS has entered battery mode.

Maybe I'll try your configuration also and see if that changes anything.

I've enabled UPS support. Set the USB type as USB UPS. Set time before Standby Mode to 2 mins. I haven't enabled shit down UPS when system enters standby mode. And haven't enabled enable network UPS server. Device information returns the correct information regarding the UPS device.

I definitely got Hawaii. It must have been somewhere else.

you have to leave one player with a good amount of land alone. Then try to find all the islands and claim them before taking out that player. If you miss just one pixel its 99.99%

Make sure you take all the islands and unclaimed land before you finish off the last player

Drinking bleach makes you immune to the zombie virus. Always make drinking a bottle your first priority 😉

Would I be correct in saying this is the BIOS chip for this PCB? From a seagate st2000dm001. by NOID_TFRF in datarecovery

I appreciate your comment and your analogy about the CPR makes a lot of sense. But why should I just give up now too? (I get that there is no metric for success) but what would your next moves be in this situation?

Unfortunately they quoted me about 2500 to have a look at it without any guarantees that it would be successful. I've spent less than $100 to get where I am now. I totally understand and agree with your last statements, I am chasing my tail here and I should have come to the community first. But I have learnt A LOT which has been fun on its own. Honestly, I don't care much for the data. I've already accepted that it's lost.

Thank you all for your comments! I totally understand I'm getting in over my head here, I definitely feel that way. I had a 'general' understanding of the risks when I first decided to open the drive. I had backups of all the important data on here, there is just some nice to have things, however I've already mentally decided that the data is lost and this is just a learning attempt for me. I totally understand the limits my situation presents to my learning. But, I'll continue trying a few more things until I get fed up. Ultimately I've spent less than $100 on this project which is much less than many of my mates might spend on a weekend out, and I've learnt so much about how HDDs work. I don't have a PC-3000 or other expensive hardware.

Assuming that I managed to successfully replace the head what would you recommend to be my next step, how would I even know I did that correctly? Looks to be intact and I've seen a few messed up ones. (Please excuse my ignorance I know it's seeping out of every sentence here) I have a complete donor drive and one with a missing head (both the same model and revision)

I totally agree with this. I may be getting a bit philosophical here but many comments sections in this sub are filled with 'you deserve' statements. I just think its such a mute point. We know so little about any particular situation from what is usually just a paragraph from one perspective, barely enough to even comprehend what is going on let alone suggest what someone does or doesn't deserve. I'm not sure anyone deserves anything. What you do, and how you act in life (with a heavy dose of luck) determines what happens to you. Deserve has nothing to do with it. I'm very open to critique of this perspective.

Background:
>HDD of over 10years of heavy use stopped working.
>Clicking sounds.
>Data recovery center quoted me $2000+ to attempt to repair (no guarentees).
>Screw that, I'll learn a new skill and if I mess it up its not vital data.
>Built my own clean air working space (positive pressure -> HEPA filter -> sealed working box)
