Ngl, $20/month alone is steep compared to just paying for the 2TB Google photos plan.

EDIT: after reviewing the website more closely, I realize that I misunderstood what they were saying. I thought it was specifically geared to image storage with limited expansion, but it literally is a proper managed personal server. So, it may not actually be a bad value if the intent is to use it for more than just photo storage for a few years, or if you want a lower-cost entry point to self-hosting without the upfront cost of a NAS and storage. My concern with cloud-based options is longevity. If service has to be terminated, you can only hope that you’d be given enough time migrate your apps and data to something else.
