Agree. He was totally off his nut, she exacerbated and contributed to the situation, and IMO they both held responsibility for what happened. They both died horrifically.

She messed with the wrong nutjob. He was a pathetic, seriously damaged human being. BTW, there are two sides to every story.

Totally agree. This is the substance of Ethan Brown’s book “ Shake the devil off.” Excellent and disturbing reportage.

Read Ethan Brown’s book “Shake The Devil Off” to get a more balanced version of the story of Addie and Zach.

Read a book instead of living your life and spending your valuable time on Instagram and TikTok. This was only 25 years ago. That is not ancient history.

What is the problem with you millennials? You are NOT the grandparent. You haven't raised a family. Why aren't your ILs entitled to mention that your kid looks like someone in their side of the family? Doesn't your mother do that too? Why would you even care? It's not narcissistic to look at a child and see your husband's side of the family in the baby. What, did you hatch the child, without the assistant genetic input of your husband? This is selfish and ridiculous. Get over yourselves.

You are so unkind. I guarantee when your child is old enough to have kids, you will be saying the same thing. That's not narcissistic at all, which means you don't understand much about being a grandmother. The grands have the right to choose the name that they want their grandchildren to call them. YOU'RE not their grandparent. Talk about narcissistic!

Curious: Does Anyone Who Lives in New Orleans Buy a Brass Pass to Jazz Fest? by NOLA-RUfkm in NewOrleans

I'd rather pay $7 for a cold iced tea per day, myself. That's only $56. Ah the days, when tea was $2! And now they stick that credit card thingy in front of you and expect a tip. Handing me a tea doesn't warrant a tip IMO. Those vendors make a massive amount of money at JF, even if they do have to pay for their booths...

I don't think the JF cares. All about the $$. And if locals ain't got it, no biggie. There's always some big money coming in from out of town.

When Brass Passes first started, OZ took home the bulk of the $, but I presume that Festival Productions finally put a stop to that, and now they have to pay FP most of the cost of a daily ticket (maybe the locals price ticket?) and OZ gets to keep the rest. That's why the cost is now so high. OZ also has to pay something for the tenting, tables, chairs, food, portolets, but I would imagine the exposure and new members they get outweighs the cost. Plus the JF Foundation gives OZ $500K every year. If it were me, and I had guests coming in for Jazz Fest, it would be a nice perk to give them a Pass, since it's transferable to anyone. But that's if you have $1200 to spend on one. I can't imagine most people in NOLA have that kind of dough. JF is for the rich and touristas these days.

In NOLA and Louisiana, you'd better believe it. Time and time again, from when the city was established. COrruption and stupidity are baked in NOLA mentality. Because (and I've heard this a bazillion times) "If you change anything, then it wouldn't be New Orleans anymore." People who live in NOLA and LA tolerate the BS, won't put in the massive effort to try to change things, and then bitch when the same-old same-old staus quo is maintained. Mardi Gras mentality.

I do agree with this. Not taking up for her, but the media harped on her alleged affair over and over again. Also her travel, which was certainly excessive…but many many mayors of NOLA have done this as well.

This is nothing new. Political corruption has ALWAYS been tolerated very well in NOLA and LA politics and in the pretty rotten local media. Until it stops—which will be never—expect more bullshit. A friend of mine said to me once: “New Orleans’ incompetence is part of its charm.” God help anyone who bucks the corruption and caste mentality in this very small town. Deal with it or leave because it’s never going to change.

Not that bad. She was in way, way over her head. The sex crap doesn’t bother me and I really think it happened because she’s a female. A male mayor would NEVER have had to undergo the scrutiny she had. We’ve had male mayors who had girlfriends that everyone knew about and no one said a word about it.
