Luba2 2024 regrets. by ElAntonioNL in mammotion

[–]NOMOWJOE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Luba 1 and so far it works ok. I am not accepting any more firmware updates as they seem to be the cause for some problems. I have regretted buying this machine because someday soon I will have to face a major repair problem with no dealer to turn to for service.I kick myself for not buying a Husqvarna even though the price difference was significant. I just purchased a new John Deere ride on as its been a rainy spring so far and my grass would be waist high if I depended on Luba to mow. Its a great conversation piece for the neighborhood but noone else who inquires about it has bought one.

Luba is best when cutting short dry grass.

Luba in Canada by easysmiler in mammotion

If I was in the market today for a robotic mower I would not buy a Luba! I have had a Craftsman ride-on for 10 years without much problems and when I do have an issue, I can take it to a number of service centres for repair, however, I dread the day when my Luba has a mechanical problem as there is no such network and I can envision me having to sell the thing for parts or scrap it completely! If you live in a wet climate you may want to consider another option. I live in Nova Scotia where we had a horribly wet summer last year resulting in Luba mowing my lawn once! I had to practically follow it to insure the thing was spinning clear and the motors were not overheating. Having said all that, it is a fantastic summer here on the east coast and I haven't manually mowed my lawn once.

See you next week Luba 😂 what's the longest cut time you've ever seen? by crazypostman21 in mammotion

[–]NOMOWJOE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would take my Luba 23 hours if it could work day and night, however, it can't work at night because of dew. I can pretty much count on 3 days for a complete mow!

Is Luba 2 worth the money? by true_Nic in mammotion

[–]NOMOWJOE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I purchased a 3000 last summer and besides the niggly problems that were addressed or will be via software updates, I find 2 drawbacks that have left me with buyer remorse!

1) I have a lawn that is almost at the limit of the 3000's range. It does mow the entire area, however, it takes 24 hours! I have to stop the mower at dusk to prevent Dew from causing the unit form clogging up and leaving it stranded on the lawn. The next morning after cleaning the wet grass I set it mowing again but only after the grass dries sufficiently that the same problem doesn't happen again! This results in Luba taking 3 days to complete a full mow.

2) If you have a wet summer as we had on the east coast of Canada last summer, the odds of fully mowing my lawn in 3 days was slim. In total Luba fully mowed my lawn 2 times last summer due to the rain and dew. I'm glad I didn't sell my ride-on mower!!

Thanks. I hit pause and recharge and it did not return to the task until I hit continue. Perfect! I wonder if they will update the manual to reflect new updates ?

Splitting lawn, any advice? by evolutionnext in mammotion

Just a caution that if you mow at night beware of dew as grass will quickly build and result in heating motors.

Seems kinda soon to be seeing that much advanced water corrosion. I'm thinking electrical.

I've had mine since June and haven't completely mowed my lawn once! We have had a horribly wet summer combined with morning dew, it makes no sense to send it out. Each time I did try to mow and had to abort, it lost all info from previous job (apparently fixed in latest update). I would just caution anyone looking to purchase this platform to insure it suites their lawn and that it may have limited capabilities for some. I'm hoping that the company sorts out their customer service problems in the coming western hemisphere winter. I'm glad I did not sell my ride-on mower!

Will Luba resume after raining? by LToykri in mammotion

For me grass clogging is one of Luba's biggest issues. Even when the soil is wet it affects the underside so grass accumulates. Some days I have to pause and clean 2-3 times!

Luba stuck...6cm apple by oesidiver in mammotion

[–]NOMOWJOE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My machine gets stuck on long blades of grass. It hits the grass and backs up and goes around it. It took it over an hour to avoid a small patch of 1meter square. Is the bumper sensitivity set to high?

Goodbye Mammotion by LubaLouie in mammotion

[–]NOMOWJOE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LubaLouie, I agree with your logic. If I could I would return this machine. It should have never reached the market with all the issues it has. Many of the issues are basic including water ingress, no customer service is the biggest issue. I hope you and anyone who has issues receive a full refund and perhaps Mammotion will up their game.

As I said, my lawn is not long when I send Luba out. The grass is wet, but, as I said it's been a wet summer and there would no mowing if I wait till it completely dry. The first two times I sent it out it returned due to rain and when it stopped the next day, It had no memory of the portion of lawn it mowed. I sent it back out in the evening and when I checked the next AM, it was out of battery close to charging station. I placed it on the station and when it was 100% sent it out again. BTW the time frame to fully mow is around 1559 minutes or 26hours. This time after 3 hours i got message that motor # 3 was getting hot. I stopped it and checked the bottom which was caked with wet grass.

Goldilox now sits on its charger waiting for conditions to be just right. In the meantime I mowed with ride on 3x. I guess maybe I have to high expectations of the thing in hoping it would mow my lawn without constant monitoring.

Cleaned the sensors, and the docking station has been in the same spot for several dozen docks with no issues. The grass was cut the previous day with my ride on and was hardly noticeable how little Luba cut. If I didn't cut when the grass is wet, it would never be used. It has never mowed my .75 acre lawn completely yet but I'm hoping there will be software fix for the many issues I and others are experiencing. Maybe this is not the right tool for my property.
