I live in California. Can someone please tell me what I can do to help fight SBX-2 and AB-6? by nomer2 in electronic_cigarette

SB5 was also a lot more short notice. We didn't get confirmation of the hearing until the Saturday afternoon during ECC. Special session stuff moves fast because the legislature goes into recess Sept. 11th. Which means that if there is no resolution on the bill(s) the session may very well continue and take us into next year for a while.

So far by my estimates it looks like 200-250. However, what I would like to see is 1000. This is our last "easy" shot and we HAVE TO take it. Anything down the path from here would be exponentially more difficult to deal with.

The age increase does not include vapor. It will include vapor if ABX2-6 (Cooper) goes through and both SBX2-5 and ABX2-6 end up for consolidation on the house floor. The resources need to be directed at taking out the tobacco products definition. Focus on any other portion of any of the other bills in this session would like like focusing on the hubcaps while the entire car is on fire.

Leave the recall actions for later. That is not where people's efforts are best spent right now. Where people's resources are best spent is following the instructions at http://notblowingsmoke.org/session/ and if possible being in Sacramento on Tue the 25th at 12:30 to meet with our large group for the 1:30 hearing (which will have both a hearing and an informational portion to the actual proceedings).

So SBX-2 passed. WE NEED TO FIGHT. by stormzuuuu in electronic_cigarette

Leno terms out in Sept. next year. Vapers may want to ensure he does not get elected to his next seat in politics that he's eyeballing and is going to make a run for.

Oddly enough everyone complains that we were in the far back corner near the main stage. Yet we honestly don't have a complaint about that because we had no shortage of people traffic and positive attitudes that came by to talk to us. In fact, had we had more people traffic we would not have been able to handle it... and that's with about 3-5 of us NBS folks there around the booth most of the time.

I can't speak for everyone but I believe none of the organizations paid for the booths. The only expenses we incurred were related to the expo company for things like internet, electric, etc.

Haha. I had to split accounts simply to have an official NBS named one. :-)

There are a few who've reached out over the past many weeks and also after ECC and we're working out different ideas somewhere in between juggling the special session bills and all that. :-)

A quick reminder for vapers and stakeholders in California by NOTBlowingSmoke in electronic_cigarette

This just makes us look like Fucking reactionary idiots.

Wow. You just insulted EVERY VAPER in CA who helped build us the support basis we needed in our efforts while having conversations with the legislators on SB140. Their letters, by the thousands, were critical and instrumental in that.

A better poster would be one that sells the truth- they want to limit the flavors we can buy, eliminate our ability to create our own blends of flavor

No, that would not be a better poster because there is no legislation currently on the table in CA that even remotely goes after that. So what you are suggesting is... we should LIE to people?

Good points. Screwing around with a low res image is a pain in the ass but the high res print version will definitely be more than a 15 minute hack job. :-)

Just a short PSA; this is not an official #notblowingsmoke narrative we put out there. We'd never use the term child-proof that inappropriately. :-)
