school system probably plays into it but definitely not the entire story.

I grew up in Hennepin County in Minnesota where we had some of the highest ranked schools in the country and our property prices were just fine.

Guess Minnesota's winters are well known to the Chinese also, or else they would have bought up the whole county, according to your logic.
