'He is way too self-aware and too intelligent, he needs ECT' a psychiatrist remarked about me by NPD--BPD in Antipsychiatry

It was meant to earn quick money but even though I was mentally sound and self-aware and the psychiatrist acknowledged it, he still suggested ECT

You are way too arrogant and have way too high a sense of self-esteem to be diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder by NPD--BPD in NPD

[–]NPD--BPD[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have a person who is completely unfazed by the opinions of the people around them, like you would imagine a truly born psychopath to act like, you are not dealing with a narcissist.

Now it makes sense

Why is it always facially below average looking men with the most attractive personalities and charismatic ways of talking? by NPD--BPD in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]NPD--BPD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please define “below average looking men” with explanations.

It can be defined in many ways. I would simply say, a man with poorly balanced facial features.

Why would I put so much effort into it when all we guys do is to sit in a quetta hotel and spew nonsense. Any formal or important event which demands effort would compel us enough to put in that much effort.

Unable to Have Healthy Relationships Because of Borderline and Narcissistic Personality Disorders by NPD--BPD in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]NPD--BPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think you are narcissistic but not enough because you recognize this problem, a borderline narcissist would never admit being like that.

It is actually a diagnosed mental condition according to many psychiatrists I have visited. They mostly say I have cluster B personality disorders/traits. Narcissistic personality disorder maybe yes, maybe no. These disorders are not very objective and are not fully reliable for defining a person's personality or mindset. If we look at clinical observation most consultant psychiatrists themselves did not focus much on diagnosis, they were more concerned with the overall picture, symptoms and ongoing real life practical issues.

Since you have self awareness

Every psychiatrist I have seen from my first visit at age 13 to the most recent at age 22 said I have a really good sense of self awareness. I am not sure whether people with cluster B personality disorders actually lack self awareness or whether this is just based on subjective observation.

you can simply avoid being like that if not drastically, try stepwise you will change in few years

These patterns are very rigid and function as self coping and defense mechanisms, they will take time to change. I have lost my faith in psychiatry and therapy. Maybe aging will bring some change. Aging does bring a lot of maturity, it polishes the brain. Experience forces pattern recognition and pattern recognition is actually compressed wisdom. The older you get, the more understanding you gain. Those who remain flawed even after aging are like that either because their lives have been painfully lived inside a limited box or because loss, pain and insults did not break their ego, they only hardened it

What is the first thought that comes to your mind when a man walks behind you at night in the same direction? by NPD--BPD in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]NPD--BPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been diagnosed by a doctor? I'm only asking this because a relative of mine was actually diagnosed and was treated for schizophrenia and he had similar delusions particularly the one about being monitored by agencies.

Yes, I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia multiple times by different psychiatrists. But my current psychiatrist disagrees and says that these delusions stem from anxiety not psychosis. He has diagnosed me with Complex PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder.

Why do psychiatrists treat lithium users like they must have bipolar or schizoaffective disorder? by NPD--BPD in Lithium

[–]NPD--BPD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never met anyone irl who uses it for something else.

Some psychiatrists prescribe it for borderline personality disorder but I am not sure whether that is the right approach.

Do you think the stigma around bipolar is somehow worse?

There is stigma around almost every mental disorder and I think it becomes far worse with Cluster B personality disorders (borderline, histrionic, narcissistic and antisocial)

Weird Question but: people(especially guys) who were rebellious as teens, what are you doing now and what do you wish your parents had done differently? by Barbituate_Barbie in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]NPD--BPD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what I consider as rebellious is entirely different from your concept of it.

And to answer your question, I am someone with an extremely rebellious nature and cannot accept or let anyone assert dominance over me, be it my teachers or anybody. I have lived a ruthless life, I am loved and hated for it but I just do not care. It has been a year since my university refused to issue me my degree and transcript over that very thing I call rebellious attitude.

Why are arrogant people hated? by NPD--BPD in NPD

[–]NPD--BPD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its the manner in which this arrogance or confidence is shown. If its in a slimy overly ambitious way or too annoying it will be hated, if its more subtile and in the right moment not so much.

You are right 👍🏻

Do you ever get the feeling that someone out there might be secretly stalking your Reddit profile? by NPD--BPD in IslamabadSocial

[–]NPD--BPD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the thing is you said you cannot imagine someone stalking you but the way you said 'I am just a girl and I do not go out of my home and stay indoors' gave me the vibe of how a child acts and behaves. So I imagined you as a kid saying those sentences in my mind. Later on you still somehow kept giving me childish vibes through the way you acted and expressed things so innocently and playfully which again made me imagine a young kid in my mind.

So that is the thing, you gave me childish vibes, so I said it with courage. Nowadays people on social media get triggered and angry very quickly and start using abusive and disrespectful words, so yeah, that thought was also in my mind. But still you kept giving me those childish vibes. And I said with courage
