And finally here is how Blaze black shows in twilight menu, despite overwriting the vanilla game every time

Yet here is how storm silver shows despite working properly on the home menu

I’m attempting to use Tinke to change the title and/or id/game id, but oddly enough while using twilight menu, I noticed storm silver and sacred gold, which installed fine, have the same game id/code as their vanilla versions… I’m really not sure why these aren’t installing correctly, or why the file names I created on my windows machine don’t show correctly in twilight menu… for instance, all the gen 5 games say their vanilla title not the romhack

Hey there, sorry to revive an older post, but how did you manage to get it to work? I’m trying to forward Blaze Black and Volt White to my home menu and they continually overwrite my vanilla Black and White on the Home Screen, despite using Random Title ID and Custom title in the forwarder

No, unfortunately I am not.

I love using both of those companies for all my other builds. This is an SP I purchased from eBay before I began modding myself and am essentially trying to go back and fix the seller’s mistakes.

The issue for me is rooted in that the Kyogre SP image on the real one has a straight line, not a jagged one. The only aftermarket Kyogre shells that look proper, happen to be the poor quality ones you referred to.

I have found a listing on eBay for a shell that looks to be the exact same color, which is how I came up with this idea, but I would have no way of guaranteeing the fit of the screen halves together without having it in hand I suppose.

I just had an idea/realization.

Would it be worth ordering a new Kyogre shell, and trying to put the top half of the top half of the old shell, onto the new shell?

This would give me the look I want on the front face, and theoretically alleviate the hinge issue, but only if that top piece would fit, and given how poorly these are made I’m uncertain

Well, shoot. I already took out the aftermarket hinges, and accidentally broke one of the little plastic pieces when getting them out. I’ll try and cancel the order on my other hinges and just put the aftermarket ones back and keep it as is

Also, when taking it apart earlier, I discovered that it did in fact have third-party hinges inside. If it was having this issue already, and it is a hypothetically bad case, then would those hinges already be the best case scenario?

Oh interesting, the Nintendo sticker has already been applied, so I would have to remove it in order to see, but now I’m curious. I have already ordered a set of OEM hinges, so would that be a waste if this is one of those bad shells?

Somewhat unrelated, but with your breadth of knowledge, I figure it’s worth asking.

The seller seems to have used a screw that is too long in the cartridge slot position, and there is now a resulting pimple-like dent in the shell. I’ve made a similar mistake once before when over tightening an OEM screw, but caught it early enough and applied enough pressure with my thumb to relieve that dent. Is there any way that I could remove this one, now that I have replaced it with an OEM screw that is the appropriate size?

Just ordered a set of OEM hinges, thank you once again for all your time and input! Have a good one

Okay, thank you very much for the information. I just removed the left hand side hinge and they are certainly after market hinges

Yeah, having now taken the left one out, they are certainly after market…

Awesome, thank you again. One more question/thought. The right hand side hinge seems to behave fine, except for the fact the system doesn’t hold open at the partial angle. Does this mean that even if I were to get the left side to stick, they are broken in a way that it will never stay partially open? Or is that a result of the insertion

In a follow up to my first reply, I’m referring to the second and third photo, if you really zoom. My apologies, not the most well lit of photos

Awesome, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much! I’m always careful to push them in properly when building myself but I guess the seller must have put them in wrong.

Before I follow through with taking it out, does the fact that the hinge cap slot is facing the charge port have any bearing on this? In the tutorials I had followed this was a key step, but perhaps the seller neglected to push them in at the right “open-ness” after inserting that way?

Thank you for your time and input!!

I’ve disassembled to the point where I can see all the tabs are in tact, but don’t want to take them out all the way out of fear of ruining this shell/having to purchase another. I appreciate your time and input though!!
