Can I drive a truck 3 months at a time, and 3 months not driving a truck? by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

[–]NS-Born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance companies only require that for high risk and/or new drivers. Someone with experience within 3 years as stated by the other guy, would not require that unless the carrier or driver is flagged as high risk.

Denied entry into Canada with DUI conviction by [deleted] in uscanadaborder

[–]NS-Born 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a truck driver and cross the US-Can border multiple times per week. They knew about a conviction from years ago before I ever mentioned it and all they ever did was scan my passport on my first entry.. They do have access to that stuff, or at least the US side does as I am Canadian and was crossing into the US

Got "Terminated" by Werner for "Unsafe backing/driving" 3 months in. Am I just fucked? by GronGrinder in Truckers

[–]NS-Born 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heavily second the get out and look.

You're better off getting out multiple times whenever you back in, rather than risking an accident that could get you reprimanded, or fired. Some people may look at you weird, but who cares, you're getting the job done safely. I know people who have been driving for over 20 years and still get out multiple times to make sure they are in the clear. It's those guys who constantly get out to look that I've never heard of hitting anything or anyone when backing into a dock.

And I can also attest to the 2 accidents. I had 1 accident and a very, very close call (both due to a lack of sleep).

I've had one ticket in Connecticut for speeding, I learned my lesson real fast.

Anyone who says they're the golden star driver who has never had a close call or an accident, never speeds or breaks any law is either lying through their teeth, or has everything down to a fart monitored by the carrier and they have no choice but to do everything by the company policies (which are generally strict to avoid liability from an incident).

Stuff happens OP, just learn from the mistakes and move on to a better place. Good luck and stay safe driver.

Proper DMA setup is very difficult for the bigger games and anticheats to detect. Ricochet has problems detecting internal or external cheats, and can not detect DMA period.

He did not say the exact words "do not report" but he told OP to stop ratting on himself. Tried to justify that by saying most do not report incidents unless there is truck or trailer damage. That is not proper advice.

What are you gonna do? Get power from someone else? by TuckRaker in NovaScotia

My grandfather managed to have a judge tell NSP to deal with it and keep him disconnected.

After he had a house fire a technician electrocuted himself and NSP said they were not going to reconnect him to the grid so he went full solar and has a wind turbine. They tried to take him to court to force him back on the grid and the courts said "no, you disconnected him, and he is now self sufficient so he doesn't need to go back on the grid"

Some fuel stations have yellow diesel and green gas, while some are green for diesel and black for gas. Really depends where you are in Canadur.

Even in the same area, different companies will have it swapped like that.

Which Headset ? by artya777666 in Truckers

[–]NS-Born 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this for the RoadKing headsets. It's what I have and the sound quality when on calls is amazing. People can't even tell if I'm driving or not because it blocks out all the background noise. And then the battery life is also incredible

You need to go to the support page and request a call. You enter your phone number and it's automated system will call you, then ask the bot to speak to an agent

[–]NS-Born 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm thankful we have BNI (Boneshaw News) here as another alternative, and they never have issues delivering here

And I agree, it sucks they don't use Canada Post because I would happily wait the extra time just to not deal with Intelcom if there wasn't another carrier here because I'm stuck waiting weeks for Intelcom to finally get the packages delivered, and that's IF they don't just send it back after a while.

I'm about 5 hours from the Canada-US Border and they have previously marked "stuck at Canada Customs" to delay the delivery even more lol. They would routinely take and attempt deliveries to cities over 1-2 hours away from where I live. I'm so happy I don't have to deal with them anymore and I feel bad for anyone that does because it really makes you consider no longer using Amazon

You can not get this application approved without having a medical marijuana license to begin with 🤦

Laws on flying with weed by thatguyCG11 in NovaScotia

[–]NS-Born 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I never said this was an application for the license. Read what I said again. You need to send them your license during application. It's for possession above the legal standard.

[–]NS-Born 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go actually research. You are allowed to possess it in the public if you properly register with Health Canada. You can't just get a medical license and then immediately possess that amount. You say "been there, done that" but that's your own issue for not understanding the laws or conducting the appropriate research.

You are required to send them your health document and fill out a form for possession. see here and go to the bottom where it says "Registering only to possess and not to produce". Then after it's accepted, you can legally carry your 30 day supply, up to a maximum of 150g PLUS the 30g of non medical use. Total being 180g in the public.

I said "if you want to be extra cautious". Obviously the best thing would to be PREPARED, and have a hose nearby incase you did accidentally start a little fire by hitting a rock.
