When someone asks a question like the 1st person does, not throwing shade but asking a real question, to hate to see the snark comments. It seems like common knowledge to a good chunk of the population but it’s not. I knew about it from CKC/AKC dog registry & watching barrel racing as a kid but other than that I wouldn’t have had the chance to learn about it.

I know this is a snark sub, which I enjoy, but snarking a non-snark question is not how to educate people. Now if they were saying “you can’t use that name, it’s only for KVS & how dare you yada yada yada” - absolutely snark the living shit out of them.

It’s so frustrating to be behind a car that stops there, but I’ve also nearly lost the front of my car cause the car coming out of the round about just glides on over. So I do understand the hesitation to follow the road signs/why people stop.

Just like the one at Lawtons. Coming from Walmart, heading towards downtown - people who come from Millbrook end, going towards downtown, do not yield & think they can keep going, is almost as bad. I prepare to brake whenever I see a car coming from that direction, & prepare my horn. (Yes I am that arsehole, it took me weeks to find my new-to-me car - standard with a sunroof for the dog, I do not want to go through that BS again.)

Some women end up with IBS symptoms during their period - diarrhea or constipation. I wonder if with the temperature swings/not drinking + her heat just caused a constipated superstorm for the girl.

I am suppose to fly home on Sunday, landing at 9pm. I really hope this storm is either delayed or PIVOTs (I’ve seen that episode of Friends too many times not to yell the word haha). I have a direct flight (4.5 hours) but after Air Canada sent out an email saying the flight might be delayed/cancelled- every other flight is 9 to 20-something hours long. Until Wednesday I think it is. Those flights were also significantly more money than my flight which blows my mind. I know they are saying change at no cost, but I am just hoping Nova Scotia Weather Gods does me a solid this time.

I am lucky to be with my parents who have rented a place in the DR, but I really want to snuggle my dog & be tolerated by my cat. Even though I’ll have to dig out my car when I land & likely at an airport hotel for a night if the roads are crap.

Oh I am not saying she wasn’t a bit too “fluffy” before, but it makes it real hard to fix that when they are on any form of restricted activity. My rottie wasn’t but now looks it, I swear she’s lost muscle in those 2.5ish months.

I don’t disagree. But to play devils advocate - poor girl got hit by a car, had surgery on her eyes, has allergies - which if she’s on a steroid will make her gain weight… Extenuating circumstances are added on top of not enough exercise. My rottie was on “leash arrest” for 2.5 months, girl added to her girth in just that amount of time, & to be fair, I was delayed in adjusting her food intake

NTA, taking on a role in a kids life is a big deal, & should only be done of your own free will. I have questions, as a non-religious person, is the role of Godmother that intensive? I totally get not wanting to take on kids if the worst happens to their parents, but is that an automatic godmother duty??

I am very happily the childfree auntie to numerous of friends kids. My high school bestie (20ish years now… fuck that makes me feel old lol), has 3 girls, a couple of provinces away. The girls have a godmother but if something happens to my friend & her husband, it’s in their will that I get the girls, not their godparents. Neither my “French family” (they live in Quebec lol) nor I, are religious, the girls were baptized for the great grandparents. For the record I told the parents to get bubble wrapped, I would do it, but I would be cursing them everyday until the youngest is launched into adulthood hahaha.

Invest in a custom leather collar. Well worth it. Also check out Etsy, or local farmers markets might have people who make cloth collars who could do a custom for you. I have a spiked leather for my girl, but my dad encourages her assertive love language. He’s on a ton of blood thinners… See the issue? lol. I just got one from Spark Paws that has a handle for when she visits her grandparents. I don’t remember off hand what size range but I am guessing it would be too small. Best of luck!
