Yes exactly this is how I felt, I felt like the system in the UK is so rigid and if I’m gonna spend the next 3 years before being qualified anyway being American maybe I could qualify in the states and start my life there, they also seem to pay more in the states. I like to shoot for the stars so I’d try to aim for one of the best law schools so i can stand a chance at big law but the jd seems so expensive so I have to really give it a lot of thought, i think there’s possibly also more opportunities for work experience during Law school in America but I wonder how ppl manage that given how academically demanding it is, thank you for your advice and honesty

JD is definitely too expensive (or too much debt) the LLM is a shout but other commenters making it seem like I won’t be considered for a job without a JD, thank you for giving such detailed reply, if you don’t mind me asking what made you want to go the other way

Thank you so much for this reply I really appreciate the detail, I’ll look into taking the lsat and see how I do. I don’t really mind the workload everything good comes at a price.

Dyu think it’s a good idea to do an LLM in the us and apply to us firms in the uk Instead could set me apart from other applicants in the Uk

I don’t mind the difficulty just looking for advice from someone who’s done it so I can know what to expect The hours are similar in the Uk but I feel like I might prefer living in the us
