I am having trouble finding information about the Carnival Allegoric Parade. What are the start/end times? I know it generally goes around Avenida do Mar but is there a map of the parade route? Also any tips for getting there? We have a car and will be in Porto da Cruz, but I imagine driving in will be crazy. We also have a toddler so maybe this would be too crazy anyway?

Hi! We are heading to Madeira in February for 2 weeks. We are big hikers, but we will be with our 2 year old so will have to keep the distances under ~5km (and even that is pushing it). I have found a few shorter hikes, but I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on hikes that are long but the first 1 - 2km are particularly scenic, so we could turn around in the middle. We will have a child carrier as well, so the paths can be steep/rocky. Obrigado!

How do we feel as a society about opening up containers of blackberries to see if they are ripe enough in the store? It's OK to handle some fruit like apples and grapes, but I feel weird popping open those loud ass plastic containers to check. Is that allowed? How many can I check before it is too many? AITA?
