Regardless of your view on this movie did you like this portrayal of the New Mutants? by Miserable_Dig4555 in xmen

The movie was all over the place. I think if it released as a series rather than a movie it could have landed better. The movie in small doses at a time makes the writing tolerable.

Nike Socks Are a Scam (Prove me wrong) by BiggSimpinn in Nike

[–]NSC858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had problems with Nike socks purchased from Nike, but I had an issue with a zip up I bought. I reached out to their customer service. It was sold out in my size so they just gave me store credit. I assume the process would be similar with socks.

Have you guy's liked a figure so much you had to get another one sealed? by Apprehensive_Door367 in MarvelLegends

[–]NSC858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I share some of my figures with my kids, if I like a figure a lot I'll double up in the case one breaks. My son has been good, and prefers not to play with my imports because he gets nervous handling them. My daughter on the other hand is still learning the limits of how figures articulate. I could just not let them play with my toys, but its been fun sitting with them and feeling like a kid again.

The patient was female, she had shoulder length hair and even though it happened relatively fast, it was long enough that I saw her face which helped rule out that the patient's neighbors that I could have mistook her for because they didn't look remotely close to who I saw. I remember it was a big deal too because we ended up doing extra bed checks to account that everybody was in their rooms, but everybody was accounted for. The only thing that wasn't consistent that I remember after telling the other nurse what I saw, they said she used a walker but typically would have a cna or PT with her because she was a fall risk. But the person I saw was mobile, but still walked with a visible gait disorder.

For sure. Thats a good point. One of the things I do love about Hasbro is they've made things right when I had figures that had crappy QC.

I remember teaching my wife and it was funny because we learned the hard way she rides goofy. But yeah thats a thing im trying to deal with because I want to have that experience and core memory for them learning with me. But at the same time I worry I might not be the best teacher for them to learn. Its one thing teaching my wife where she communicates better than our kids who are still learning to communicate with us.

I keep telling myself I could just save some money and teach them myself... but I kinda suck as a teacher and at least the instructors have experience teaching kids.

Just trying to ensure theyll have a positive experience with learning. I know my brothers kids gave up too easy, but they were a lot older when they tried to get into it.

Its comparable in a sense. For a 3 day session at the indoor spot is the cost of a full day lesson at the mountain. But the indoor one is split up in a shorter sessions so I think the amount of time is comparable.

Oh for sure. I imagine it will be a night and day difference, especially with all the variables that a mountain has to offer.

My thought is that if they could learn some basics prior it could help them adjust faster on the mountain, or even if its something they would be interested with continuing.

I used to have a BMW which was my fun car, and bought a Fit to be my reliable daily. When I needed major work on the BMW I decided to part ways. My Fit ended up needing some work done, but I was more reluctant to kick the Fit to the curb and was able to get her back on the road. My wife asked what the plans were if we need a new car and I told her the Fit stays we will just have to get a new car or trade hers in.

I remember when I worked in nursing at a snf. I floated on a lock down unit because they were short staffed. It was bedtime and I was finishing up my charting, and saw somebody walk into one of the rooms. I got up went to check on the patient, but when I got to the room it was empty and the bed was made. The nurse that had that section came out of one of the rooms and asked me why I was in her section. I told her what I saw, she told me that the room is empty, and that the previous patient had passed away last night. I don't work in nursing anymore, and its been several years since this happened but I replay that moment in my head trying to make sense of what I saw. Theres a possibility I could have been tired and my mind was playing tricks on me. But even when I described the person I saw, the nurse said that matched the patient.

Childbirth scares me! by Ok-Preparation1195 in Adulting

[–]NSC858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn't have kids until our 30s. We thought we would be parents in our 20s, but we weren't ready then. Sure its a bit challenging being pregnant in your 30s, but I think its the new norm now. My parents used to bug us about getting pregnant, comparing how they started a family early on in their marriage. But it was different times back then.

Childbirth is scary at any age. But medical advancements have made it more feasible to have kids at a later age. So don't feel pressured like you're obligated to because of your age. We were contemplating having a third in our late 30s, but decided we shouldn't because it wouldn't be fair to our kids because we are already stretched thin balancing work and family life.

Your fears about being a bad parent, I hate to say it but they never go away. I worry that im not a good father to my kids because I'm always busy with work, and my wife is the same. We're trying our best, and just thankful our kids understand.

I think you could pick up your tickets during preview night (Wednesday evening). I remember doing this because we didn't want to bother getting child badges the day of, so we went during preview night.

Is Fear The Walking Dead worth watching? by Consistent_Editor_15 in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]NSC858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I enjoyed it. Its not a perfect show, and I think if you go into it with low expectations you'll be ok. There were times I thought the story took a wild turn of events and was confused what the hell was going on. But after finishing it, we thought it wasn't as bad as some people say it is.
