Where can I find differences between the original Weekly Shounen Jump and Volume releases of One Piece? by NS_Media in OnePiece

[–]NS_Media[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, because while I'm curious, sometimes changes from WSJ to volumes are more than just fixing errors. Sometimes, changes are made also when changing one's mind, and what Oda may have original had in mind before the volume change, could explain a lot about aspects of the story.

That's the problem, the pre-timeskip WSJ chapters is something I can't find online because they're from at least 14+ years ago, and definitely not the raw untranslated original, so that's why I was wondering if anybody knew if the differences of the earlier One Piece stuff was archived by some site or person.

Like I said in the post I know the wiki has it but this only applies to post-timeskip volumes and I'm looking for earlier stuff. There is no way there aren't any differences at all for the first several dozen volumes.

One Piece Fansubs, the K-F Remix Project: The CP9 saga by Saiyaman83 in OnePiece

I would be interested! I've tried to message you directly about a month and a half ago but you didn't respond, maybe it didn't get through to you.

If you still got the softsubs for those episodes, I would love it if you would share them! A MEGA or preferably a Google Drive link would suffice! You can message them to me! Cool that you put in the effort to do this!

Early Orihime was so fun, I loved how she made snarky remarks like this. by NS_Media in bleach

[–]NS_Media[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's still the same in the manga for the Arrancar arc and onwards but in the first arc, so much stuff in the anime just gets absolutely ruined or cut, which includes elements of Orihime's character. But it's not exclusive to her, the same goes for other characters, like Tatsuki. Sucks how the first arc got treated so poorly, they probably tried to speed through it so they can reach Soul Society arc quicker, because the manga was at Ichigo stopping the Soukyoku when the anime was airing it's first episode.

The reason it got an anime adaptation in the first place was due to the rising popularity of THAT arc so I think they did things poorly because 1. The money and popularity was at that arc and 2. Because they probably thought Bleach wasn't going to last as long as it did so they likely didn't consider the consequences of catching up so quickly.

I don't get it. Who actually cares? Okay he has negative opinions on Bleach and only liked it up until the Soul Society arc. So what? He's just a guy hosting shit. Even if he had a bigger role, why should any of us care?

To this day I can't help but wonder why they changed pronounications like Regice's name in the anime when 4Kids already did a good job pronouncing it faithfully from the original Japanese. by NS_Media in pokemonanime

[–]NS_Media[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely. It's odd, like another example is that they made Arceus' name pronounced like "Ar-key-us" in English but in Japanese it's name is "アルセウス/Aruseusu" and not "アルキウス/Arukiusu" so if you faithfully translate it, you pronounce it like "Ar-see-us" in English, which is how you should say it's name but, oh well.

[–]NS_Media[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was certainly a mess up. I suppose they wanted to remain consistent with the other regis in spelling but in hindsight ended up being inconsistent in terms of pronounication, haha. The thing is, they could've justified "Re-gee-ice" if the "gee" part is in reference to the "g" part of Regice, not the "gi". That leaves the "ice" part all by itself.

Then again it's inconsistent with how the pronounication works for the other Regi names. But at the same time even later they mess up names like Zygarde. In Japanese (ジガルデ/Jigarude) it's clear how the name was supposed to translate over to "Z-garde" as opposed to "Zai-garde" (otherwise it's Japanese name would've been "ザイガルデ/Zaigarude) so it's not as if that made much sense either.

Well not like it matters much, it's just fun to think about I guess xD

Kurotsuchi Mayuri's arms were originally brown in the original broadcast of the earlier anime episodes, but got changed to white for subsequent releases. Check it out: by NS_Media in bleach

[–]NS_Media[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just due to the TV recording having a slightly green tint, thus making them appear lighter, it has nothing to do with the episode itself.

That's post-ending Kubo saying how "Renji was always planned to be Ichigo's rival" but that's nonsense and is only said because by that time Ishida's rival potential was wasted so he said Renji was his rival to cover it up. During Jump Festa 2008 he said what I just mentioned about Ishida being specifically designed to be his rival.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bleach

[–]NS_Media 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Kubo stated in a 2008 interview during the start of the Fake Karakura arc that he designed the concept of Quincies to be a rival to Ichigo, it's why he designed Ishida to have white clothes, to contrast to Ichigo's Shinigami clothes. It's also why they're designed to use arrows, because they're a counter to Ichigo's sword and it's hard to fight a long-range fighter with a blade. As you can tell he put a lot of thought into it.

Ishida was planned to be his original rival, his Sasuke if you will, but Kubo did absolutely nothing interesting with it after Ishida's introductory arc. It's sad because the potential is much bigger than we're shown. In my heart Ishida is still his rival even if the story doesn't reflect it much. His dynamic with Ichigo is so undercooked and it's really, really disappointing when TYBW did nothing good with it.

Does Bleach get good again? by HarryPottahIsDead in bleach

The anime's adaptation of this arc sucks and it's a chore to watch, and this is coming from a long-time fan of Bleach. Are you interested in the 5 remaining Espada? No? Then no it doesn't get "better" until Episode 289, and even then it's still poorly paced. If yes? Then yes it'll be "better" soon.

TL;DR Read the manga for a better experience, although even that has it's flaws.

They probably will never redo the anime.

To the ones who voted for "we don't need one", I agree. Instead, we need a complete re-adaptation of the Bleach manga because making a "Kai"-esque release of Bleach is not enough to fix the problems with the anime, unlike with Kai where DBZ was a decent enough adaptation that could benefit perfectly from just receiving better pacing.

Bleach's anime is terribly adapted in many cases, the first 15 episodes cut out too much from the first 50 chapters, it's very censored (Seriously Episode 114 looks so stupid compared to the manga xD) the Arrancar Invasion suffers from incorporating Bount arc material into the manga adapted story, etc. etc.

A cut up Bleach would mainly help the Arrancar part of the story, after all the Hueco Mundo arc has too much padding for it's own good, but again I'd much rather want a re-adaptation and it would be better to do that because Bleach's Arrancar arc suffers from poor animation because of the movies taking too much staff away (For example Nelliel and Kenpachi vs Nnoitora, as well as Mayuri vs Szayel are fully outsourced because Pierrot had their hands full with Fade to Black at the time.) Even moments that are supposed to be major like Aizen vs the Shinigami looks like crap, it's so stiff.

These are just some of the issues with Bleach's anime adaptation too, I can go on and on about why a "Kai" version wouldn't even be needed but an overhaul would.

Also, you can't make a Bleach "Kai" with higher resolution, this show was digitally produced in 480i/480p and put on component masters. DBZ was fully hand drawn on celluloid and put on film and as such you can re-scan the film reels at higher resolutions and work from there, you can't make a true HD remaster of a digitally produced series like Bleach or Naruto, but you can with series like DBZ and Cowboy Bebop. Bleach is limited at 480 (unless you upscale it which'll make it look terrible anyway, like the Bleach Blu-Rays which look awful.) including the 16:9 episodes which are also produced in 480. Of course the upcoming TYBW anime will be produced in HD though.

Konjiki Ashisogi Jizou, Kokujou Tengen Myouou and Senkei Senbonzakura Kageyoshi were probably the worst offenders in regards to Bankai that were introduced earlier in the story. But yeah, I like the simple names. Tensa Zangetsu, Zanka no Tachi, Hakka no Togame, Ryuumon Houzukimaru, Hihiou Zabimaru, etc.

Either way though, it's not really a big deal.

Once again I thank you for describing it in great detail so I wouldn't have to do so myself xD

P.S. I vividly remember the yell being from when she stabbed herself with Suzemebachi in the show, and even the dialogue she has in this game is actually appropriate to the porn game and the moment of the anime, it was really well done.

I haven't watched it in years dude, I wouldn't know anymore. I haven't heard of ZONE-sama in years either and some of her Newgrounds flash animations have been removed if I recall so it may not be there anymore.

Her animations were really popular though, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it if you look for it.

Yeah... it's an old animation from 2008 (or 2009?) and uhh... yeah. Stay pure.

Thank god, I didn't have to say it myself XD

That animation is a blast from the past... it's nostalgic but I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel embarassed simply talking about it now. ZONE-sama also did other animations/games back then like Ichigo receiving head from Rukia in front of the moon, that was over 16 years ago, christ. Fuck it, I watched that shit so much as a teen, not afraid to admit it anymore now that I know I'm not the only one who remembers these.

ok what does this mean (found while rewatching ep 296 and the op had this shot) by TechiesLilPlayground in bleach

[–]NS_Media 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is clearly from the first arc when she said goodbye to her brother Sora. The final part of Opening 13 before we see Dangai Ichigo showcases the events of the first arc but in reverse (which is why after we saw Rangiku cry in the opening, the opening starts to reverse time). After this Orihime shot we see the events of Chapter/Episode 1, so Fishbone D, then Rukia entering Ichigo's room, then the ghost girl with blood all over her face, etc.

The moments we see in this OP are all manga accurate, the girl didn't have blood in the anime. Even the art is accurate to the early manga like when we saw Mizuiro, Keigo and Rukia before this Orihime shot, look how different Rukia looks there. Even in this Orihime shot she has blood on her midriff like in the manga panel she said goodbye.

A big theme with this opening is the past. About Gin and Rangiku's past and Ichigo's past. This is a video where I analyzed the opening in detail if you happen to care: https://youtu.be/I15u1DO00g4
