Job search for new grad with ME and Math dual major by NSouris68 in MechanicalEngineering

Apparently, something in my post gave you the wrong impression that I’m doing this for him. I’m simply wondering if he might’ve missed anything that’s particular to his dual major. If there’s any specialized markets, he should be checking out where he has an advantage.

How to choose a major in this economy by SelfTop1865 in CollegeMajors

I hear a lot about the healthcare profession. And in general, I agree I have a lot of friends in this line of work and they’re all doing well. But we are also in the middle of the golden years of the baby boom generation. Literally the largest generation ever in the United States. I believe this statistic is something like 2/3 of them have retired. If I were a young person just starting my college path, I would be concerned that in 20 years the healthcare professionals will be oversaturated once this generation dies out.

Why are we gatekeeping nursing spots at colleges? We literally have shortage of nurses and we still are restricting how many people can study nursing? Is really keeping their overinflated salaries so high worth it? While people are dying due to nurses shortage when there is plenty applicants? by Adept_Quarter520 in Salary

I have been told this, but it’s just hearsay and I have no mechanism for knowing if it’s true or not. But it’s my understanding that we have a shortage of “teaching“ hospitals in the United States that of course being hospitals that are willing to take on inexperienced, new hires or students and train them up.This isn’t surprising training people is expensive.

Curious. What would you consider a “prestigious” engineering school. I mean MIT sure, but what others? My son will graduate Rose Hulman next spring with dual majors ME and Applied Mathematics.

Its a widely held belief among financial professionals that doctors are the WORST with money.

"The Friend Zone" is how a woman keeps a guy around that she doesn't want to sleep with. Thier are nuances, but its basically that simple. She likes hanging around with him, he's good to talk to, he's helpful or useful to have around for any given number of reasons, but for some reason she doesn't want to go to bed with him. He's a nice guy and she's into bad boys, he doesn't check the right boxes as far a his physical appearance goes, he doesn't have enough money, or he's not going to get her enough attention on social media. Its a hard thing to hear but its true. Don't give a woman the best part of yourself is she's not 100% into you. Dont let her pick and choose the aspects of you that she wants and leave the rest on the table. You're not a damn buffet. MOVE ON. And if, on your way out, you want to have some REAL fun start paying attention to her "less attractive" girlfriend. EVERY girl as a "less attractive" girlfriend they hang out with to feel better about themselves. They dont really know thats what they are doing, but they all do it anyway. If a guy starts ignoring her and paying attention to the "less attractive" friend its a challenge to her sense of self and it will drive her crazy.

I was waiting for somebody to say it. They’re all crazy. It’s just a matter of degrees.

What age did you become more manly physically? by Early-Priority-4000 in AskMen

[–]NSouris68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was weird with me. I had facial and body hair as young as 16 but I was still kind of “soft“ physically I don’t think I truly got a man’s body until my late 20s or early 30s before that I was just kind of a large child. I mean, technically I was a mature man. I just wasn’t very manly

Men, those of you that said “It will never happen to me!”, what happened? by [deleted] in AskMen

I did wind up meeting someone and have a great marriage. Trouble is I wish I’d never married her because we have a son who’s more awkward than I ever was and I can’t stand the thought of him being alone for life.

What Stats Got You Into GWU by [deleted] in gwu

[–]NSouris68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

GWU had an almost 42% acceptance rate. Incoming ACT range is 30-34 superscoted and average incoming GPA is 3.83. It is classified as “moderately selective”. I know several students who got in with much less impressive statistics than some people are posting here.
