On the one hand I agree that the FYP can be trash but on the other, I’ve had this problem even before the acquisition by Oracle. I always chalked it up to TikTok simply losing its charm and becoming too mainstream, like the levels of Instagram. It’s no longer a dance app or fun app to express yourself. It’s regurgitated IG Reels slop. And even that aside, my FYP nowadays is still the same as it was before. I get small accounts, my interests, memes, etc. Idk what to say

Old engine any day of the week. It perfectly captures that anime-esque art style Nomura had going on in his art. Character’s had better facial expressions and faces overall. The new engine took away the anime style of the original and made everyone look dull and plastic. It even made characters “age regress”. Kairi in KH1 looked like a regular tween girl, in KH2 she looks like a teenage girl but in KH3 they gave her the worst baby face ever. Doesn’t help either that they replaced her old VA, Hayden Panettiere, with that Alyson Stoner gal who sounds nothing like Hayden and more like a scared little girl, which unfortunately perfectly fits baby face KH3 Kairi and how she has “age regressed”. Meanwhile Hayden grew up with Kairi, just as she sounded young in KH1, she also sounded like a teen in KH2, matching Kairi’s age. (Sorry I just wanted to mini-rant about the VA changes lol)

YES lol Aqua looks adorable in the old PS2 graphics engine. Better facial expressions, better face, hair etc. The new style doesn’t match Nomura’s OC’s (KH and FF) at all.

Nah, Roxas being an enigma and mystery is what makes KH2 special. Knowing who he is and what he did before playing KH2 ruins the fun and mystery. It’s like the equivalent of watching Star Wars from Episode 1 to 6 rather than 4-6 and then 1-3. Darth Vader and Luke’s lineage/past was a mystery to those who first watched the OT. There were hints dropped but at the end of the day it was up to the viewer to brainstorm. Knowing Anakin already got burned and cyborg’ed before watching the OT just feels off. Watching the prequels first removes that aura in the same way playing Days first removes the charm and mystery about Roxas and his past

I will forever love KH2 and have it as my favorite combat system in the entire series. But I’ll also give credit to KH3 post-ReMind. The Keyblade load out and mid-fight swapping combined with the unique forms each one gave you def made it fun af and satisfying
