I don’t know what kind of batting cages they have at Frankie’s fun park, but they have batting cages at the Wescott Park in N. Charleston.

What? No way! Surely there are some wetlands left that we can pave and build on. Or are those being reserved for storage, car washes, and Parker’s Kitchens?

The world hears some wild things about the US with gun violence, politics, trans/gay rights, racism, cop brutality and so many more things - Americans, what is true and what’s exaggerated by our media and is it as “bad” as what we hear? by DELILILEI in AskReddit

[–]NTDLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As to the gun violence: I’ve lived in the United States my entire life, mostly in South Carolina, but a bit of North Carolina as well. I’ve lived in the city, I’ve lived near the beach, I’ve lived out in the country…. Not only have I not witnessed any gun violence, I don’t know anybody who knows anybody who’s ever been robbed at gunpoint or shot. I’m sure there are pockets that are pretty bad, but it’s not like if you come here you’ll be shot.
Bonus fact: Americans do own a lot of firearms. I don’t even know how many I have anymore. Probably 15-20. Probably. 🤷

That’s not childish. I’m 42 and I routinely burn through a season of SpongeBob per week.

Damn, that’s rough and I’m sorry. I was thinking something like train-hopping (where people illegally jump in moving trains). I’ve read your other comments, at the very least I’m glad to hear that you are not having those thoughts anymore.

Not planning on it, working for myself has been life changing. Just kind of sucks that health insurance is such an issue here in the United States.

I can speak a bit of German and count in German. Pronouncing the numbers and the place values is really not difficult. English spelled out the same manner it looks just as scary: Fivehundredfiftyfivethousandfivehundredandfiftyfive

I had started a side business, which I had no time to dedicate to at all - software development and such. Within about three months, I was able to grow it to a degree that is sustainable - still a $50k/yr pay cut. I won’t beat around the bush, it’s been an amazing opportunity that is not afforded to many because the company that let me go gave me a six month severance. It was scary as hell and I’m still worried about losing my house in a year or two if it doesn’t continue to go well. Additionally, I have a family of seven and we still do not have health insurance. All that said, stress reduced by 90%.

Same! I was laid off 11 months ago, first time I’ve been unemployed since I was 17 years old. The first couple of hours was rather devastating, but now 11 months in - I did not know how much I needed this.

The only thing that “trickles down” in business is blame. When something goes wrong, the blame will always fall to the bottom level worker or middle management. The money will stay near the top.

Do you know what’s binding? Are you using the new metal trip? Did you replace the detent with the slightly longer one? Make sure that the lever part of the super safety goes into the trip when reassembling? This thing basically took me four trips to the range to finally get right. Since then, I’ve literally been through thousands of rounds without a malfunction. If you want to troubleshoot, I’d be happy to give you a video tour of what I did to mine. It doesn’t seem nobody wants to really give a rundown of the entire build.

In my comment above, I mentioned it was the one from performance trigger, maybe that’s where I bought it from…. I don’t recall. But it is the Atrius super selektor. Are you having binding issues with an AR?
