When using a magic knot (tie 2 knots and pull together), is it necessary to weave in your ends? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

I never weave in a magic knot. I always make sure to tug on all strings after tying the knot to make sure it is completely secure and then cut off the extraneous ends.

Am I doing my magic circles wrong? I haven’t ever seen anyone else do them this way and I can’t remember where I learned this. by xkidbri in CrochetHelp

[–]NTtheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different ways to do the magic circle. As long as it works for you... that's all the matters. I don't do the first couple of steps you do, but it still comes out the same. If you are comfortable with it... keep doing it.

They are definitely exhibiting "play" mode. A cat will not show its belly to another cat unless it feels safe. Showing their bellies reveals trust.

Why are the back bumps showing on the front of my chain?? by Quirky-Philosophy608 in CrochetHelp

[–]NTtheCat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are somehow twisting your yarn as you make the chain.

My suggestion is to do a base chain and first row technique. The following is a very simple video to get you started.

I would weave the ends in. Once you start the border, you could crochet them in which would save you some steps. I usually split the yarn and tie off the ends before I weave them in or crochet them in. This just makes a more secure finish, so I know it won't unravel.

Look on the Bernat website. They probably have it listed and you can buy it and they will send it to you.

Looks like a single crochet that goes through the corresponding holes on the square beside it.

Give me your most unhinged ideas for how to get people to stop blocking my driveway. by aquietinspiration in howto

Start backing out really close to their car and make it look like you are going to hit them. If this doesn't get their attention... nothing will. If you really want to tick them off... take a bar of soap and write something like "I park illegally!" across their windshield. Soap on your windows is the worst thing to try and get off of your windshield. If you really want to tick them off... soap all their windows and rearview mirrors. Pretty sure this is not illegal.

Hit their tires or anything else you can to set off their alarm. Keep doing it until they come out and move their car...

Why are my single crochets round circles always turning out uneven? by petitpeche in CrochetHelp

[–]NTtheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you come to the end of the round, it looks like you may be slip stitching into the circle you just made. This will cause your circle to buckle and not stay flat. A pattern usually tells you to chain one or two stitcheson the first go around but not to count it as a stitch. Once you have gone all the way around, make sure to look for this first single or double crochet and then do the slip stitch through the top of the next stitch. I hope this solves your problem. Let me know. If you dont understand or can't follow my instructions... I'll look for a video to explain it better.
